Dark enough to squat but too dark to deadlift.

Tomorrow, if allowed, I shall squat in the dark

No belt tonight, everything was going rather well so I just didn't bother and it didn't appear to make the slightest difference except maybe that things were a little more comfortable without it.

Back to where I was a fortnight ago but this was better all round, nothing felt heavy, depth was good, the shoulder grumbled slightly but not as much as expected. Some remedial nonsense with light dumbells and then away into to seriously heavy rain.

Back to work tomorrow. Alarm set for 5:30

Wednesday, 5th May, start 16:00

I am against the clock tonight as I have an appointment for ear wax removal before six, I shall therefore dispense with the flyes and just do the shoulder remedial stuff

Seated pulley rows
No 11 x 10
No 11 x 10
No 11 x 10
No 11 x 10
No 11 x 10

Seated pully shrugs
No 16 x 10
No 16 x 10
No 16 x 10
No 16 x 10
No 16 x 10

Dumbell rear raise
10 x 10
10 x 10
10 x 10
10 x 10
10 x 10

All with shoulders back as per instructions. Horrendous traffic on the way to the Physio, which is where the ear place is, arrived on time though and discovered to both my delight and disappointment that my ears are remarkably clean and there wasn't a trace of wax in either. I have heard tales of alarmingly large lumps of crud that were fished out of the old canals. But not tonight. Hey ho. Chippy tea on the way home.

Edit. It's May, not chuffin' April. Oaf!!!

More Physio tonight and got another stretch to do. That should be the end of it though.

Tesco's on the way home and discovered that they no longer give cashback, and strangely no-one seemed to know why

I wouldn't think so. We only need worry when there is an electronic equivalent of a brown envelope

According to the telly right now, the tower that appears on the club badge of Everton is called Prince Rupert's tower and was once a prison

One of our golfing members was down tonight, doing some internet based "increase your swing" exercises. One involved hurling a three kilogram medicine ball into the floor as hard as he could. Another involved a "wand" of Japanese origin which was swung in the manner of a gold club past a meter on the floor which measures the speed of the wand's tip, 116 mph was achieved which I assume is good.

The wand actually looks rather similar to a blind man's white stick, we implored him to walk to his car (with an audience) using it as one and then jumping in and driving off on whichever side of the road he fancied. That would have been the high spot of the evening but I suspect he didn't do it.

I have seen many strange things at Adders over the years but this takes the biscuit. Tres amusing to be honest

Further to my previous answer I have been in touch with Tesco and they state that whilst true, the cashback facility has been withdrawn only from those branches that have an ATM.

Initially I could well believe that my training could be of interest to some and that people would come in here to read that.

As I have got older and especially since the long lay-offs of assorted lockdowns and tiered restrictions I have started to fall apart rather and my training has gone to s**te. I would really struggle to believe that it is of any interest to anyone anymore.

It is therefore utterly bewildering to me that this log gets the number of visits and contributions that it does. I recall Rob once saying that he found the most attractive element of it was my candour. I feel he may have hit the nail on the head there.

Whatever the reason, I am delighted that people do still come here and read and hopefully enjoy the ramblings of an old fool. Thank you for noticing the approaching milestone.

The training is probably the least interesting bit of your journal.

keep up the ramblings.

Back in normal times we had a tradition of dining post gym on a Sunday. I didn't train on a Sunday but was happy to watch others and more than happy with the eating aspect of it.

The food was comsumed in a local pub, it was splendid, home cooked and competitively priced. The pub has yet to reopen, so training has restarted but the dining has not.

Last week it was revealed that our female member had done a reccy and there was food available but elsewhere and outdoors and today we are going to give it a try.

The outdoors has never been my friend and eating outdoors while stationary is alien to me. (I have of course rammed fish and chips into my face whilst walking home many times)

So I will don hat and coat and scarf and gloves and let you know what happens.
