Britain's Strongest Man u80kg 2021 Saturday 12th June 8 events across two venues on one epic day. Heavy and light options on events to facilitate all u80s athletes 50% of entry fees go directly to prize pot for Podium. The more athletes that compete the bigger the prize pot so spread the word! 1 Qualifying Spot up for grabs to World's Strongest Man u80kg at the Official Strongman Games Day before weigh in available. Events always subject to change Venue 1 Kaos Strength Gym 9am Registration 10am Start Event 1 Max Deadlift. 3 attempts for each lifter. 4th attempts available for record attempts. Suits allowed, straps allowed. No sumo, no tacky. Event 2 Yoke/Sandbag Medley Athlete will carry yoke 15m, run back to start line to get sandbag then carry that 15m and load over their own yoke. Weight Options 280kg yoke into 100kg sandbag (heavy option) 240kg yoke into 80kg sandbag (light option) Any time with heavier option beats lighter option BUT only if the heavier option is finished. Event 3 Axle/Log Overhead for reps Athlete will do 1 rep on the axle then 1 rep on the log and go back and forth for as many reps in 75 seconds. Weight Options 110kg axle and 110kg log (heavy option) 80kg axle and 80kg log (light option) 1 rep on heavier option beats any on lighter option. Event 4 Frame Carry 15m Weight Options 240kg (heavy option) 200kg (light option) Any time with heavier option beats lighter option BUT only if the heavier option is finished. Top 8 move onto "Final" at Venue 2 for next 4 events Venue 2 Lean Body Strength Club Approx 2pm Start Event 5 Max DB Rising Bar jumping 10kg until only a few athletes left then smaller jumps. Athletes can skip lifts if they want. Event 6 Sandbag Throw over 4m 9kg/11kg/13kg/16kg/18kg/20kg Event 7 Car Deadlift Hold Side handle apparatus, athlete will lift up frame and hold for as long as possible. I’ll save myself the embarrassment and look ahead to 2022. ha ha fair one. to be fair there are a few other factors. persuading the mrs that two epic journeys and an overnight stay in as many months for strongman is a good idea being one. and if I qualified for bnsf brits that would probs mean an expedition into the arse end of wales too. thinking about it, the protege wants to do a comp at kaos later this year too - f**k noes how im going to square all this away lol. im booked to go away at the end of may so that might make the decision for me anyway. The weight options in particular are a great idea given the current lack of competitive outlets. | ||
