Very nice Boar, you reckon that is a good indicator of the pace you could keep for 2k?

Thanks Jon !

Yes PB , for me the 3 x 1000 2r is the closest indicator of 2km pace (better than 6 x 500 1r) If i can do this session I can confidently go into the race with a sub 7 pace and possibly sprint the final 250 and nip a second or 2 off

Also, a curtain sucked into my fan during the first rep ...so the 2nd rep was done at 92 drag !! this is why my stroke rate is up , but i liked it !

what happens is , I move it a bit to let some light in and forget to tuck in the flapping bit .... and the fan slowly tempts it over !!

100% will proper tuck it in next time.

I think you can go under 6:55 after watching your last 2k row, where you still had plenty in the tank for a sprint at the end.

I agree that i could get around 6:55 , I would have to commit to a 1:44 pace from that start , so I am not sold on that , but who knows , Im pretty pleased with how training has been going

  • easy 6 x 1000m row

So , I decided on not doing a full 1500m at race pace, but instead a 4 min practise .... I 'cruised' at 1:44.5 and then at 1000m i sprinted the last 150m ... so in theroy I am going to sprint the last 300m and hopefully that will take a second off my time

drag was 115
stroke rate 33/34

  • 4mins - 1155 - 1:43.8

Thats a nice session, now to cruise the rest of the week.

I too was forced to get the "decs" out of the shed today.

We have a different tree every year usually something mackled up by me, this year I have a couple of old wooden ladders standing by.
