Interesting to hear this.
Do you not count Thor’s deadlift as the current WR strongman deadlift then?

No. Biggest gym lift ever but not done in a contest
I really cant grasp it tbh what's the point in competition if this stands ?

The point is it has been a rather unusual year, imagine training for a decade to achieve a certain goal and then having the competition removed. Think of someone like Roger Federer 38 years old probably his last chance to win wimbledon gone, so therefore I think it was great Strongman gave its competitors a chance to go for records.

Going back to your log I had a thought, maybe you and Luke could get together and attempt the record at your place then have a return fixture 6/8 weeks later would WUS make that happen? Maybe bring the American over too?

Great to display strength feats
But not.to call it a record
Not when it's in comfort.of your own home that's not what contests are.
We will just end up with records being set too high and never getting replicated in true contest format....which is proven....to be much much harder

I guess we will just have to wait and see if you lift it at the WUS feats of strength. If you fail the lift like Luke then maybe these 'gym lifts' aren't as easy as you make out Happy

Most competitions have their max log or deadlift at the start of a competition anyway, so it's not like competitors have been expected to do a whole show before they go for a world record attempt anyway. The only thing that hindered you from an outsider's point of view at europes was the fact it was outside in poor weather conditions

Agreed. I personally don't think lifting in competition is harder at all. In fact thing its easier with the adrenaline and everything else going on. Far harder to get psyched up alone in your gym.

But just my opinion.

for me its the difference between technical lifts and raw power lifts. all my deadlift pbs are set in competition but but of my overhead pbs are about 5kg off what I have done in training.

Agree. I cocked up overhead events way more than anything else when competing.

Good to see you posting on here Graham Happy

I count Thors record 100%

It's not his fault there was a pandemic and he lifted that s**t with a bit to spare

Thor would have lifted it faster in a comp imo

For now he is the strongest deadlifter ever, but it will likely get broken inside a year anyway

Also I do think Z can still break the log record

Just watched a couple of the stone runs from the weekend.

I've thought this for a while now, but don't you think tacky has ruined stone runs completely? It's barely even a feat of strength anymore. Just who can move the fastest

Not really. You or I wouldn't come close to finishing it with all the tacky in the world.

Tacky just changes what it's testing imo.

It really isn't. If you actually believe that you are, to put it politely, rather stupid.
