Now this was much more sensible tonight, did all of these all by myself and never panicked once. I almost felt quite sensible. Now I just have to work out what to do next time.

Some old friends came to visit tonight, quite independently of each other. Young Aaron being one, he hasn't changed and it was good to see him. Whether it was down to him being there or not I could not say but I have a rather fine rant tonight, about all sorts really but mainly about phone apps. Really enjoyed it. Might have another Friday ?

And rightly so. I thank you for the look of amusement on your face throughout.

The legs are still aching but nowhere near as bad as last week, so I may delay the thought of training them every ten days for a week and see how it goes

Hands held up much better tonight, just starting to sting a bit on the last set. The legs may not be aching as much but the back ws just starting to feel it on the last set. A decision of some description may be required by the end of next week.

Very warm tonight but excellent persiflage. All this and sore hands. It's good to be back, deadlifts and sweaty foolishness. Such fun.

On my way to the chippy for dinner early this afternoon, as it was exceedingly warm I noticed that a local hairdresser had placed a large, plastic bowl filled with water outside her shop. It was labelled "dog bar". Never seen that before

You're currently training squat, bench, deadlift.

If I were you, I would consider training squat, bench, deadlift, bench - but still at three sessions per week. This would spread the whole thing out a bit, and give you more time on the bench, both of which I view as positives. If you are uncomfortable training bench 1.5 times a week, you could make the second one a general upper body assistance session.

That was pretty much what I was thinking, I used to alternate deadlift and squat so each got done once a fortnight, that I now think may have been too long, so I was considering what you say. I may do general upper body in place of every fourth bench session

Monday, 10th August, Start 1600

The radio informed me that the M62 is closed in both directions and that the A57 is suffering just where I would normally be driving along it. So one tiny, tiny advantage of working from home is that I don't have to plough through all that s**t and can go around it. So ninety odd days of working from home and at last - a very slight advantage

Bench, very raw
20 x 10
20 x 10
20 x 10
40 x 5
50 x 5
60 x 5
67 x 5
72 x 5
77 x 5
77 x 5
77 x 5
77 x 5
77 x 5
All good, nothing to cause any concern

Tricep pushdown, very strict
40 x 10
50 x 10
60 x 10
65 x 10
70 x 10
75 x 10
75 x 10
75 x 10

Very, very warm tonight, 26 degrees here and there are reports of 36 in London, not too bad then and there is talk of thunder in the small hours. Quite sweaty tonight but nothing I can't handle. Fat folk don't like it too hot.

Wednesday, 12th August, start 1600

Worked all day in the kitchen where it was a very pleasant 23 / 24 degrees, switched off the work computer at 15:15, picked up my bag a walked to the car, my first thought was "f**k me it's hot" Arrived at Adders and the car said 31 degrees. I had no reason to doubt it.

Squat, sleeves and boots on. Got a sweat on just putting the sleeves on
20 x 5
20 x 5
20 x 5
20 x 5
20 x 5
40 x 5
50 x 5
belt on
60 x 5
70 x 5
80 x 5
90 x 5
100 x 5
110 x 5
120 x 5
120 x 5
120 x 5
By now I look like I have been swimming and it is hot ! There was a thunderstorm for about twenty minutes but all that did was make the outdoors smell bad, still very hot. The ten day interval since last time helped a lot and the belt was no bad idea, that helped a touch too. The limiting factor was the arms tonight, the action of holding the bar on my back. Everything else is fine and the arms aren't too bad. Got Mack to depth nazi me on the last set and he pronounced the all wonderful by my standards. So all in all a very enjoyable and rewarding afternoon. Shame about the temperature.

I shamelessly skipped this morning, I would have left the club with an inch of sweat on the mats.
