Big Z’s 228kg was dodgier than that iirc.

I thought there’s a 60 second limit for each lift.

If only we knew a tekkie geek who could put them lifts side by side (big Z and Luke throw in Aaron Page too)

Might sound daft, but don't you get the feeling that the fact he's failed it, has made the strength feat series more legitimate? I think there was a slight assumption that every athlete was just going to go in, break every record, and in some opinions, ruin all the record's?

Nah, the 228 isn't a bad record. A few of the ones before that were definite gifts though.

Shame for Luke, but not a surprise. He never looks comfy with the big logs, always needs 2 goes at the dip, that's got to waste a lot of energy.

His 228.4 the other week looked good. Maybe it was too heavy so close to comp time.
His cleans look very easy.

I don't agree

If you mean because z has held it for so long and the prestige of surpassing the man? then fair enough

I imagine plenty are closer to a 230 log, than 500 plus deadlift

Ed done the impossible and Thor took it another step further

Log will need to hit about 240 to reach 500 imo

For me Hall’s deadlift is still the greatest feat. He did what everyone though was impossible. I don’t think anyone else has

Great effort by Luke!
Could've gone either way on the day. Maybe in a comp with the atmosphere it would've gone. I reckon he thought he would get it. If log lift champs is still happening at Europes he'll get it then. As will Hixxy. And probably Bibby.

i think this.

His attempt had all the power, without the double dip and a touch of luck on the balance overhead he was there.

i cannot see any reason why he wouldnt take the record in the near future. Its most certainly in his locker.

I see it this way, that them there brothers are a tidal force and it not high tide just yet...

If it was Z lifting, he’d have been given the down signal before it was stable and locked out.
