Another trip to Tesco this morning, and by a circuitous route to give the car a run. A very enjoyable drive but a shade more traffic than I would have thought. It might be me but the roads do seem a shade busier even at silly o'clock.

Last night I stepped out the front door just after eight and wandered down the street to chat to some of the neighbours who were playing swingball, the front of the street opens onto a large grassed space so there was plenty of room for this foolishness.

I recall seeing adverts for swingball on the TV many years ago and if I remember anything I remember that it looks easy enough.

It isn't.

As a reward for making myself look foolishness I have received about ten insect bites, roughly equally split between both arms and I itch like crazy. More than I did when I foolishly shaved my chest and I considered that to be the ultimate in itching. Never go outside gentle reader, oh it looks nice when the sun shines, but it's horrible.

I also noticed as I walked back home (pre-itching) that my beard is now visible on my shadow. That is usually the sign that it needs trimming and it does indeed need trimming. I am however, sorely tempted to leave it until I return to work and cease this working from home nonsense. Hmmmmm. Decisions

My beard is getting pretty vast now. Can't decide whether I like it or not.

I can understand people that visit barbers being in a dilemma as they cannot get their hair cut. You and I don't visit barbers so don't have this problem, and our beards we handle ourselves, yet we both seem undecided as to whether or not actually bother.

I am certain that under normal circumstances my beard would have been trimmed by now, but under the present circumstances I am undecided.

Two pieces of good news - one my brother popped round yesterday and brought some of his wife's pea and ham soup - which I love, so that is today's dinner sorted.

Secondly I received my car insurance reminder today and it is over one hundred pounds cheaper than last year. So hooray for that.

One piece of not so good news is that I still itch like an itchy thing, but I did recently purchase a tub of E45 cream which does seem to soothe it.

Gorgeous weather today but I yet to venture out, forecast colder for tomorrow, if that means the things that have been biting me will f**k off I will welcome it.

I was speaking last night with a couple of families from father down the street, they spend much more time outdoors than I do and they too have never known a year like this for bites.

I have no idea what is the cause of it, so I will use Occam's razor and blame working from home. I will do this very much tongue in cheek and leave it to the nutters and the conspiracy theorists to provide the proof. And by provide I mean make up.

Thirty second day of working from home. Still don't like it but it won't break my heart too many times to have to continue to do it. The big advantage is that the walk to work takes about eight seconds, that aside there aren't any. I miss people, I miss the gym and I miss the canteen.

One thing that did cross my mind was charities, I often put the coppers in my change in a charity box in the works canteen, ever since the coffee machine at work stopped taking copper coins I simply never got the opportunity to spend them so into the box they went.

I can't be the only person doing this and the canteen was not the only place I did it. How many charity boxes are there in how many shops that are all now closed ?

A little repair work done on the garage today, he did a grand job and cleared some of the foliage from around the approach, what a difference that has made. Good job, glad I had it done.
