There will be couple of 500 deadlifts in the next 10-15 years, but I doubt anyone will ever rep 205 log for 4 with ease.

If Bibby does 230kg that is better.

If you expect any record to stand forever you are not too bright. That isn't how progress works.

So in the name of progress they firstly lowered the log weight from 205 to 195 and then removed the event because nobody was doing more than 2 reps.

Im not sure. Repping 205 in 90 seconds is another game. He trains only for record. When did he finish a competition?

Manchester last autumn.

The log record is a tough one. A lot more variables than the deadlift. We saw Z fail a lot of lifts around 230kg. You need more than just to be capable of lifting it. You need the right log for you and for everything to go just right with the lift.

It's interesting to note that we've generally gone backwards in log lifting in the last 10 years. 8-10 years ago we had Z, Radz and Mike Jenkins lifting more than we see guys do today. Seems a lot of people can get up to 200kg, maybe 210kg but can't seem to get the balance for more.

Still, these things come and go out of fashion. The deadlift is huge now because a lot of comps have a max deadlift so everyone trains it. Hardly any comps do max log so it isn't trained. When it comes back into fashion someone will get it.

I still wouldn't bet against Z in his prime against anyone

I would give shaw and Thor a slight edge

Depending on events

I think if you used the 10 most commonly competed strongman events then Z would lose to prime Thor or Shaw. Especially if they were competing among a strong field of guys. His weaknesses lose him more points than the other two. There's a reason why grip strength was largely abandoned as a test in strongman when Z was in his prime.

I don't think Thor would have a massive advantage on grip over Z, Thors grip doesn't seem too great for his size

It was enough for him to beat both Shaw and Licis on the grip event at WSM this year.

Not his strongest suit perhaps but i don't think it is the "weakness" it once was.

If he does the 400kg frame carry at Arnold's with no drops(which I think he will) it is a strength.

Last year he won the grip in WSM final and 2nd at Europe's behind Felix. It looks much better than ever in training. He pretty much is the complete strongman.

Hence my thinking this year we could see him consolidate himself as the strongest of all time
