Monday, 18th November, start 16:00

Quiet tonight, and cold. Traffic was bad due to ongoing road works, not as bad as last Monday but worse than most of last week. The car told me that it was precisely zero degrees on the car park this evening and it's usually a shade cooler inside than out, so despite there being no women present the heaters stayed on.

There were only four of us, Ju jitsu guy is under the weather to the extent that there will be no ju jitsu for him tonight, which is almost unheard of. Mack has been training very hard and if I am any judge is heading for a deload week. Handsome Jeff is suffering a cold and I am creaking rather more than usual.

Bench, very raw
20 x 15
20 x 15
20 x 15
50 x 5
60 x 5
70 x 3
80 x 3
90 x 2
100 x 2
105 x 2
110 x 2
115 x 2
120 x 2
The arse came up an inch on the very last one, and I got it back down, but it was there and I can't deny it. That aside this went a lot better than I was expecting it too. I feel a but better for all this tonight. I leave the close grips and head home, at least it's warm there.

I dislike extremes, I prefer a day's steady drizzle to a fifteen minute torrential downpour.
Ideally, it would be dry, no wind and no more than a zephyr if there is, and warm, warm enough for a t shirt without a coat, but not so warm that people start to take their shirts off. Maybe seventy degrees of the Fahrenheit variety, but no more than seventy five. Blue skies, no cloud and the sun with a smile on his face.

That'll do it for tonight. Better than I thought it would be, the start position felt a bit odd on the first rep and fine on the second two, once off the floor though all was fine. A bit more time and we should be back to normal

So a summer breeze and a big doobie with a brother would only land 6 out of 10 on the perfect scale then?

A few in tonight, there was a fascinating conversation about coffees and the machines that make them. About coffee beans and the degree to which they should be ground, the tamping (which I always thought referred to pipe smoking) but which I believe has the same meaning here but instead of air passing through it is now water, or milk or a water / milk combo of undisclosed ratio. There was mention of pressure and levels of creaminess and the creation of images in said cream. I was hugely interested and highly delighted that I prefer tea.

Good spot young Sir. Shame though I could have noted the government and placed a hefty bet on the election result. Pity it was just a typing error and not actual time travel.

So, yesterday being Friday I did my usual Friday thing and swung by Tescos for my usual weekly shop. The first stop was the fruit and veg aisle where I purchased two packs of apples, six apples per pack and two bags of satsumas, also six per bag. As these are the first things into the trolley they are the last onto the conveyor belt at the check out, hence the last things to be rung through and last to be packed.

I packed my first bag of things that were not fruit and started on the second. Apples one and two were packed as was satsuma one, I reached out for satsuma two, it was not there. I stopped and scoured the area. They were not there.

"What have you lost?" asked the friendly assistant
"I had a second bag of satsumas" I said, "I can't find them"
"I rang two through" said she "have you not already packed them?"
*I don't think so" I replied, But checking seemed a reasonable thing to do.

I checked the first bag - not there.
I checked the second bag = not there either
I surveyed the items awaiting packing, they were not there
I checked the trolley, just in case, not there either.
"I definitely rang two through" the assistant assured me.
"And after you did, where did you put them?" I asked not unreasonably
"There" she said indicating an area where they clearly were not.

I assumed baffled stance number one, akimbo with a furrowed brow.
"Well this is a pretty kettle of fish and no mistake" I said as it seemed the phrase best suited to the predicament
"There they are" said the assistant pointing at a small orange bag on the floor some five or six yards away. How they got there we do not know and probably never will. Whilst a solitary satsuma will roll, a bag of six will not.

So there you have it, Aldi and Lidl will beat them on price but they can't touch them for entertainment.

Thank you for your attention.
