My deadlift has gone s**tter than ever. I really want to deadlift over 220 in a comp on the 8th December. That's 3 weeks of training. Anyone know of any miracle 3 week deadlift routines?

If drugfree? Run away from the testers!

Lol
Tested fed.
The last comp I did had an obvious juicer in my class. Was ridiculous. He got tested. He's now banned.

I had a feeling you were tested mate

Maybe just pull something heavy from low blocks and maybe speed from floor for two weeks and have a light session from the floor the last week?

f**k knows man, as I'm not the guy to offer anyone advice

I was at a tested comp recently and a guy in the 105 class would of given a peak Arnold a run for his money for biceps!

Pull twice a week.

Heavy(ish) Pull on day one. Paused SSB Squats/Paused SSB Box Squats as assistance exercise after.

Other day, do pulls against bands/chains. Not too light, not back breakingly heavy.

Training aside, you need to mentally convince yourself you can do it. Keep it ticking over in the background of your thoughts between now and the comp. This has helped me when going for big lifts in the past. This may sound silly.

Doesn't sound silly In the slightest.

It's good advice, but It won't save you from a thrashing, should our paths ever cross!

Film it.

Promise you will post it, regardless of the result.

Use the threat of humiliation as motivation to succeed.

Thanks guys
I've been doing 3 triples for the last 3 weeks. Week 1 was 180, then 190, then I was hoping for 200 before another similar 3 weeks but starting from 190. Unfortunately I only managed 192.5 for 3, 2, 1 this week. Booooo

I was actually thinking about multiple singles at 90+% trying to keep the pull as fast as possible. Probably with some light speed work too.

I think 3 weeks to comp is too late to do anything overly heavy I would concentrate on lots of light explosive doubles no need for grinders.

You might be right jt. I need about 12 weeks build up to a comp I reckon. Gone are the days of being able to lift anywhere near my max any day of the week. :-(

This is also a good idea.

Make sure you are carbed up to the nines.

Do you have someone going with you to the meet?

Wayne was at the competition I was at, and was able to choose a sensible and successful pr attempt.

This was after about 2 hours of warming up and cooling down, as the organisers failed to use a rising bar format.
