You children! Train hard, train intense while you're still young.

LOL ! well , Im not overly interested in just doing the lifting like i used to , but I have become more aware of the benefits of it n s**t , but I am looking forward to joining a gym again and 'going training'

I think the first time i saw you was at a comp at rhinos martin , you were probably in your late 40's ? very stud-like i recall.

top advice JT , with us still having young children , it will pay off in the long run

unicycling uphill isnt too hard (as the fixed wheel provides a decent ratio ,but going downhill is very tough on the thighs and knees) however , i am getting fairly good at it

and once you know how to unicycle, its no more dangerous than 'double wheel' cycling , or whatever its called

Haha, I would have been in my 50s at Rhinos, I think it was 2008, but maybe 2007. For the stud, you must be thinking of someone else, a more regular visitor to the home of the tubular bandage, perhaps? Grin

Hello sexBoar 😍

I neglected all lifting and any form of mobility work during my first year of ‘serious’ running (as I’m a bit of a dense c**t.)
I try to lift twice a week now, chins, powercleans, front squats, various overhead and kettebell work and assorted other glute and hamstring work. I take 20/30 mins each day working on mobility too.
The end result is that I’m s**t but not as s**t as I was and have managed to rid myself of a number of ailments.
Kisses.

I think we both know you are far from s**t Bod !! and getting better and better !

sometimes I wish i could stick with something long enough to get quite good at it , but it just doesn't seem to be the way I am made .....

I've had sciatica since yesterday, possibly triggered by trampolining. Maybe 43 year olds shouldn't use trampolines.

Also, I hope Sugden doesn't close forever until I've reached 20,000 posts.

I think anyone who's running fairly seriously should commit a couple of hours a week to basic strength training. Runners at a non elite level seem to be pretty broken and disfunctional athletes in general from my experience, I assume from massive volumes of repetitive training without much thought to mobility and corrective exercises
