Squatting isn't doing my back any good. Member 5108, 869 posts SQ 170, BP 125, DL 210505.0 kgs @ 93kgs UnEq | I also like Bear Grylls as well as Ray Mears. Here’s another random one to throw in the mix - Steve Irwin (RIP). What if you found yourself stuck somewhere where everything can kill you? As to survival skills of Sugdeners - Paul’s fishing skills are a good shout. I also fish and quite like anything outdoor-related including making fires in tricky situations.

What a legend!!! I took a day off work when he died, absolutely gutted. I recently got my 2 youngest kids into his shows, and they love him.

Steve Irwin is not a survival expert. That's like saying, what if you found yourself stuck under a heavy weight. Kirill Sarychev would be the best person to help you "survive". That said, Paul Savage's fishing skills are legendary. Sitting it wait for hours on end in near absolute zero temperature conditions, 100% focussed on the slightest dip on his float and reactions that would impress a mongoose. I think Savage might be the man.

My brother hit his float multiple times at 11m whilst putting his ground bait in at the team England trials, that's true high level s**t.

403 forbidden message Member 160, 5120 posts SQ 190, BP 137.5, DL 225552.5 kgs @ 86kgs UnEq | Bear Grylls does stupid s**t for the camera. Why not cook the bugs by boiling them, making your drinking water safer, lessening the risk of consuming parasites, and lessening the risk of diarrhoea all in one fell swoop? Ray Mears is a lot more practical.

Interesting Member 6186, 245 posts | The other survival people you have to respect are the sea mariners who sail around the world single handed on a boat in the middle of the ocean/oceans in gales, storms and sometimes a hurricane. An area around the Southern Ocean is too far away from land for any long range aircraft to get to and return to land in the same flight, it is called the "Hole" "Drakes Passage " "Cape Horn" "Strait of Malacca Lightening Alley" I will stick to land and the odd bit of kayaking.
