Many thanks for the good wishes and the poem (which is also quite well known in the UK). I am still on holiday although the passing of the days is accelerating and I feel I will be back at work in no timeUnhappy

Tonight is squats and physio and more rest. It is now almost nine and I have not been out of bed an hour yet, I could so get used to this.

Well over here for the first time the news have been talking about something chippy tea?? I think they said it is a buzz to consume it and they want to stop it from being here. I want to try it! Is that bad?

Yes, you're missing out if you don't have your sen a chippy tea every now and again.

Chippy teas are delicious and in moderation life-enhancing

Wednesday 24th April, start 16:30

Squat, sleeves and boots on
20 x 5
20 x 5
20 x 5
20 x 5
20 x 5
20 x 5
60 x 5
80 x 5
belt on
100 x 5
120 x 3
140 x 3
155 x 3
now we start
165 x 5
172 x 4
180 x 3
187 x 2
195 x 1
165 x 6

It would appear that 180 is where I lose my confidence to "dig" and the 187 double and 195 single were therefore borderline, however on the plus side I am plenty strong enough to handle this stuff, I just lack the confidence in my knees to handle that strength.

I am on holiday this week and when at work I usually take four to six pieces of fruit which I munch through mid morning and mid afternoon, I also usually have dinner at twelve thirty.

When off work I never seem to get round to eating fruit and therefore on my weekly shop for a holiday week I don't actually buy any, and today, because of circumstances I won't bore you with I dined at eleven thirty rather than an hour later. This I believe to be the reason that the last set was only six instead of the eight it should have been.

I should know better

Talking of passing of days, is retirement imminent or on the back burner for a while yet?

Back burner. Don't get my pension till 66 so three years at least, and there is reason why another year after that would do no harm. I need to get my arse in gear and work out what I would do if retired. Right now I reckon I would just waste my time which doesn't sound like a bad thing but mentally, for there to be no challenges ever, that would be bad I reckon.

Generally I have found that it is the married men who relish retirement as they have wives to drive their activity throughout the day. Single men tend not to look forward to it as much. I have no such driver, I would probably just become a slob. Slobbing, whilst fun, is probably no way to live your life.

Of course this change in a heartbeat, all of which would be health related, but so far so good. Work has a big social side to it as well. It's a bit of a dilemma.

When I went to that school reunion a couple of years back I was amazed just how many were retired, probably about half if not a bit more. But I didn't envy them at all. I have long been a creature of habit and work has certainly become that.

Further to my previous reply, the school reunion group has its own facebook page and people stick all sorts up there.

On day a retired chap was getting rid of his wife for the day and posted his plans, they were to buy the ingredients for and then prepare and then eat, a pan of lobby. He made it sound quite exciting but when you stop and think about it, that it so dreadfully dull. But as long as he's happy.

I wouldn't be. Shopping and cooking ? I'd rather workHappy

I consider you and Doctor Rick to be the most intelligent men on Sugden. You mean to tell me that you cannot retire and rewire?
