Warm Up

Rolling

High deficit deadlift, no belt, DOH:

40kg x 5
60kg x 5
80kg x 5
100kg x 3
120kg x 2
140kg x 1
160kg x 1
180kg x 1

Stood under an enormous fan, blowing at my mid back, as every other rack was busy: or pricks had left plates on bars. I've had the worst crick in my neck for the last week. This did not help.

No hands SSB Squats:

Bar x 5
40kg x 5
60kg x 3
80kg x 3
100kg x 8 x 3 sets

These are the worst.

GHRs:

10 x 3 sets

(Apart from GHRs)

Petersen Step-ups:

15 x 3 sets per leg

Reverse Hypers - Paused:

12 x 3 sets

Hadn't trained in a week. Lazy.

Warm up.

Rolling.

Stretching.

SSB Squats:

Bar x 10
40kg x 5
60kg x 3
80kg x 3
100kg x 6
110kg x 5
120kg x 2
130kg x 1
140kg x 1

Probably a PR. Felt like there was more there: But that is for another day.

Can't remember the last time I squatted three plates a side? Thank the lord for the powers of accommodating resistance.

Deficit Deadlifts - Fat Gripz, Beltess:
60kg x 3
80kg x 3
100kg x 3
120kg x 1
140kg x 1

A PR, of sorts, as I have never done them before.

Leg Extensions: 15 reps per set, jumping two plates at a time, until I could no longer do 15 reps.

Paused Reverse Hypers: 15 x 3 sets

Warm up.

Rolling.

Hypers.

Stretching.

DOH deadlift - No belt, No Chalk, No Hookgrip:

40kg x 5
60kg x 5
80kg x 5
100kg x 3
120kg x 2
140kg x 1
160kg x 1
180kg x 3: PR on no belt deads.

Got a nagging pain in the side/rear part of the left shoulder from 100kg onwards. I always do rotator cuff exercises as part of going up in weight.

Any ideas?

Hammer Strength Leg Press:

Machine x 10
80kg x 6
130kg x 6
180kg x 10.

Odd machine. You start with your knees at your chest. Figured it would help with leg drive off the floor.

Dips: 10 x 4 sets. Added a band as additional resistance on last set.

Facepulls: 15 x 4 sets.

GHRs: 10 x 3 sets

Machine trap/deltoid rows:

Up to heavy set of 8

Lunges:

BW x 20
10kg x 20
20kg x 20

Is was said that pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses understanding. I always imagine what that old man I train feels like physically. Old timers like him are all bruised up. He’s always tripping, accidentally hitting his head off a bar by stumbling etc... Black and blue marks and scars, disfigured fingers. Still the tough guy never whines like me. I feel bad for the old man holding bottled his pain. I really don’t see why people can’t loosen up.
Anyways I would lighten up my.weight and ask the misses for a deep tissue massage?

Went to the gym again in the morning. So it was harder than I expected.

SSB Squats with no hands:

Bar x 10
45kg x 5
65kg x 5
85kg x 5
105kg x 2
115kg x 8, 6

Wanted two sets of 8. No dice in the morning.

Banded deadlifts up to 120kg x 8

Leg Extensions: 5 sets of 15 ascending weight.

Lying Leg Curls: 5 sets of 10 ascending weight.

Went to do DB Shoulder Press: nothing left in the tank.

On track again. Don’t let go til it bleeds.
You should be proud of your heating up the intensity.

Same thing happens to me. When I ramp it up ship breaks. I then back it down reglue and ramp it up again. Walking with the new Apple Watch competing with the wifey for who walks more has become a knee sweller. Been hot here. Took the wifey on a trek with the cycle. She is a thrill seeker and I showed her some power. Something about the power of a good ride gets them happy jack!
