Looks like another comp for Thor to win!

I hope we see a few over 500kg on the dead, and I hope they all get paid for doing it! Would be worth training just for that one event for a pay day!

I also like that they will lift a life size stone statue of Odd Haugen from floor to shoulder.

Yeah Thor should win...will have the husafell stone to train with in Iceland, like Licis has the tombstone to train with.

500kg deadlift i can see Pritchett going for..with no frame carry i can see him thinking he won't place high and will just focus on deadlift and log.

I also hope the wheel of pain gets progressively heavier.

Thor wins if he is injury free. He's on another level from any previous strongman.

He's the strongest man ever.

I do think Licis will do wonders if he has an injury free off-season. He has improved lots the last two seasons despite 3 major injuries.

He did the same injury Z had with blocked nerve screwing up his shoulder from training heavy yoke.

He got a pec tear

Tore his lat

So i think between now and the arnolds his deadlift and pressing will increase a fair bit...his pressing moreso because all his injuries affected that.

Hard to see Thor not winning any contest at the moment, although it will happen. I remember thinking the same about Shaw in 2015/2016

Agree about Thor winning. In a week we are probably going to see him squat 460kg...I have never seen a convincing squat from Shaw in all his videos or competitions, what do you think he could squat?....hard to judge high box squats with chains. But none are ever close to 1000lbs.

I do think Shaw will come second as long as the 'wheel of pain' is HEAVY. The Arnold do tend to go too heavy if anything on events, so that should be the case. I also think he will get good points on both stone events this year.

Licis is good at repping at say 170-180 on OH, but he tends to miss the lifts when they go to 200...so he will just need to improve his pressing strength. He will do wonders elsewhere.

Kieliszk...hard to say with static events. His moving events improve lots every year. But I am guessing his numbers on static are pretty similar from when he first competed. So 380kg deadlift and I think he did around 7 reps on a 175kg log that year also and won lighter log. He might come in with a 420kg deadlift and 220kg log...in that case he challenges for first.

The wheel of pain...the conan's wheel from the movie, it actually looks too extravagant and large.
