This will be very interesting.

The boxer v the puncher

Will Fury use his skill and long jab to out point Wilder or he might surprise us with a knockout, he has the strength but he really needs to turn up as a hungry Tyson Fury and want this more.

Wilder will be dangerous and brutal.

If it goes the distance possible Fury otherwise if Wilder connects it could be an early win for him.

Interesting fight.

Happy

Very very interesting fight and I've changed my mind about three times about what I think the outcome will be. Initially I thought this was too soon for Fury after his comeback, particularly given the low quality of his two comeback opponents, but now (having seen what Fury looks like now and how he's moving), I think he will win. I also think he will win by stoppage, as I reckon he will be able to hit DW at will and that that will take it's toll in the latter round of the fight.

The big question is though - are you staying up late (that means it's OK to be having a few beers) or getting up early (estimated 05:00 fight time) which means breakfast beer is the only option - which is usually frowned on.

I'm quite excited about this anyway.

My bet is on Wilder. Fury is an awkward f**ker to fight but i dont think he can stop Wilder. That means Wilder has 12 rounds, and all he needs is one punch to land clean and its over.

I also back AJ to roll over the winner.

DW beat Audley Harrison when he was at retirement age, and Ortiz. Except for these 2, which big names has he beaten?

HOWEVER:

Well i dont think many people would have bet on that outcome.

While im glad Fury didn't win i think he can justifiably feel a bit hard done by with that result, and credit where its due, i didn't expect him to have the heart to get up from a knock down, never mind from 2 of them.

I would’ve given it to Fury by one or two points. The way he got up after the knockdown in the 11th was incredible. Think he was almost a bit lucky not to get stopped by the ref though (could’ve either waved off the count or counted him out by finishing it a second earlier).

Wasn't a great Fury fan but to come back like he has is outstanding,I also think he won that on points,he out boxed DW, Also was amazed at Fury's stamina amazing fight for me. I think he was robbed.

Me too, but what has amazed me is that a lot of American fans think that just because Wilder knocked him down twice he should automatically win. They appear to have no idea about how the scoring in boxing works.

Seeing as Wilder is supposed to be the heaviest puncher in the division Fury getting up after being hit clean by not only the right hand but also the left hook when already going down was amazing.

Apart from the knockdowns I think Fury fought the perfect fight and looked good from start to finish.

My initial thought when I watched the fight was a definite Fury win. I was genuinely surprised when he didn’t get the decision. I usually score the fight as they’re going along but I didn’t with this one. So I watched it a second time and scored it and I finished with 114-113 to Fury.

I think it’s not a robbery by any means, but I can understand why people think so. There’s a few rounds where not too many significant strikes were thrown and those rounds are hard to score.

One thing is for sure though, it was definitely not 115-111 to Wilder.

As a fellow Manc I definitely wanted Fury to win and was gutted when he didn’t get it but my concern for the rematch would be, what can Fury do better? He boxed brilliantly and I don’t think Wilder was at his best.

If Wilder goes down the Joshua route now and doesn’t have the rematch with Fury though it’s a joke.

Edit: oh yeah, and that get up from the 12th round knockdown was one of the most impressive things I’ve ever seen in a boxing ring. A true iconic moment in boxing history

I think Fury would be able to do even better in a rematch. He's a natural boxer so will have learned a lot in respect of Wilder's technique, game plan, power, however, I don't see the same being true of Wilder who certainly doesn't have the same skill or boxing brain that Fury does.

I see this exactly the other way. Fury will be much improved in another few months, whereas Wilder will be the same puncher he is now. If he can't keep Fury down (and I see no reason to think he can) then I just don't see what he could do in a rematch.

I hope you’re both right but I can’t see what he can do to improve. His conditioning was good, movement good, work rate good. What can you see him doing much differently?

He was the better boxer and will be every time they fight.

Whereas Wilder was loading up on that right hand every round and not really picking any punches but just throwing wildly. I know that’s his style, but that’s where he could improve by picking his punches and not loading up with every one.

I’d love to see a rematch over here. Maybe that could be the difference

Most thought Fury would be too rusty for this fight - if that is true a rematch would have him controlling the fight more, moving better and less likely to be caught and with better stamina
