I'd be surprised if he breaks the log record without a change to his pressing technique, he has a really inefficient push press and barely gets any leg drive. Not sure he'll be able to press 230 in that style

I actually think he has the best boulder shoulders in strongman in terms of size. I think as long as he stays injury free he will continue to progress and get the strongest shoulders also.

Loads of positives from Tom Stoltman's performance...deadlift good, stones amazing, yoke great.

Britain's strongest man could be super competitive.

Loz back to being in great form. Bish looked really good at Giants live. Tom Stoltman improving fast and already competitive. Terry good on moving but needs more static...but BSM will be lighter anyway. Will Eddie compete?

Really? He’s only 15kg away and when he did 213kg there was certainly more in the tank when he did it. I wouldn’t call it surprising if he can put that onto his log press in the next 2-3 years

X2

Thor can break any record he sets his mind on. Strongest man ever.

Not the most accomplished, but who could beat him head to head?

I think he's capable but I don't think he will improve his technique and I don't think he will be able to mong through 230 but I could well be wrong!

Biby strict press 220 from rack

No other modern day strongman has replicated this feat

True but I'm expecting Larry Wheels to start pressing on the heels of some of the Strongmen records, just on his YouTube channel.

Maybe deadlifting with them soon too. He's scary strong at the minute.

Sad that there’s no mention of big Z, but he came 3rd from last I think, how much longer is he going to carry on for?

He came last overall and didn’t even come top 3 in the overhead medley. Anyone know if he was injured?

Impressive run from Thor and Mateusz this year.
Shaw started to slow down much younger than Z did. At 36 Z was still making improvements.
Even at his best event high deadlift he gets beaten by margin.
But its normal, the evolution of sport suggests newer guys to surpass the previous champions.

Yep! Shaw can't beat Thor now and others will catch him

When do you reckon Z will stop competing at this level?

When the pay days dry up.

If people still want to see him, if he still enjoys it and gets paid for it good for him.

Not quite sure what to think of Shaw's deadlift..maybe got the setup wrong in training by using bands.

I think 2019 will be a max deadlift year..Arnold's and WSM. I can see three, potentially four guys lifting more. Thor and Caron beat him at max deadlift twice this year and i think Licis and potentially Janashia will join that list.

Arnold's will be the event to judge it on as it always is.
