Anyone else find their strength drops in this godawful heatwave?
(and before anyone says it isn’t hot and drones on about summers in Bangkok, Sydney or Cairo, bear in mind 5C is T-shirt weather for me)

Even when I’ve felt I’ve managed to hydrate reasonably well
I still feel weak and nauseous.

Is there something about when your body goes into overdrive
to keep cool and sweats like crazy, reducing electrolytes, vasodilates surface capillaries etc that also there is a reduction in neural output and hence limit strength?

I'm finding I'm f**ked.
And that's before I start training.
Walking 4-5 hours in this heat (today has actually the been coolest day for ages) is wiping me out.

The past few weeks I've had the energy of an obese sloth.

The heat has reduced me like a berocca tablet in the rain.

I dislike the heat quite a bit but don't generally lose any pressing strength as long as keep on hydration well.

The heat just slows me down.

I cannot push myself the same.

A good fan could be the answer next year, I cannot afford air conditioning.

However I prefer this weather to the wind and rain and it is about time we have a good summer.

November 2018 :-
Picture this come waking up in the dark, coming home in the dark and back to dressing like you are in Antarctica or Mawsynram...before you know it you will no longer be showing off those power bellies and your guns ! You hide under your layers or water proofs.

Happy

I've just been a lazy c**t.

The sun was burning my legs at 6:30am this morning, and now at 10:30 it's impossible to stand outside.

Internet says 35 in the shade, but thermometer says 38 in the shade. Cars left in the sun say 45 degrees and the August heat still hasn't kicked in.

Aircon gets ambient temperature down to 30ish indoors, where it's relatively nice and cool.

I find i'm doing more stuff like:

Leg ext - 5 sets
Leg curl - 5 sets
Hypers - 5 sets

That would be it. Fk doing high rep squats.

I hate this heat. I much prefer it when it’s cold. I’ve cut a lot of accessory work out at the gym just to get out of there.

My gym is on the top floor of a mill where there are only 4 tiny windows on the whole floor.

Sounds grim - it’s a shame the best gyms tend to be in the biggest s**tholes building wise and the worst commercial ones in lovely airconned well designed spaces.
