Not posted for a while due to forgetting login but read this forum daily and always find it useful. Just wondering if anyone has come back from an achilles rupture? Fully ruptured mine 6 weeks ago and have worn a leg brace since. Have trained through it but obviously not the affected calf.

Interested if anyone else has had a knackered achilles? It feels like it has reattached now but I've got the brace for another 4 weeks and the lower achilles looks like it has a knot in it although the full tear was further up and seems ok. Have started doing no weight calf raises on the affected leg as I can bear it now but little unsure if it will knacker it or help. Any advice appreciated.

Apologies for lengthy post.

If it's going to snap, it will! You got to start putting some more weight on it. Just a little at a time. I hope it's okay, but my buddy did this playing tennis and he never fully got back his full strength from this injury. Why did Wayne say fake?

Look at the posters username.

I came here hoping this was about Achilles the demi-god. Very disappointed.

Crap user name but not a fake injury by any means. Joined Sugden last year well before injuring the achilles. Ironic choice of username I agree.

Thanks for response. Am putting more weight on it and it feels more stiff than anything, swells up when use it normally but not where it fully ruptured, lower down is where it swells.

Doing all gym exercises as normal other than deadlift and direct calf work. Just nervous about hearing that horrible pop sound and it rupturing again. Work have been good re the injury, so I'd look a wally reinjuring it again so quickly.

Nervous particularly about yoke etc where it will bear proper weight.

Back at fracture clinic on 27th. In Sc**thorpe though so will likely get MRSA instead.

Sadly not a fake injury although the choice of username 6 months before injuring it is ironic I agree.

I wish it was a fake injury as I wouldn't be waddling like a moron.

I tore my groin at a comp doing yoke. Took a long time and still can haunt me. I see what you mean when you test it too much you regress.

Take it easy.

I assume that you are not a professional football, or rugby player?

If so, remember that there really is NO prize for overdoing it and attempting to get back to peak fitness before you are ready.

Thanks Dan, fully agree. No not a sportsman by any means, i'm a council officer. Have done half a dozen or so strongman comps but not for a while and purely novice and 105 class.

Agree it's not worth rushing at all...at the same time have more time for training which is frustrating. Doing lots of gym work but no events stuff. And trying to be seated where possible as balance is awry.
