If you have execcive mass (define how you will) you are negatively impacting your health, and increasing probability of diseases. Now exercising is clear a plus, but that dosnt change the above.

If people still want to be that mass then all power to them. They are making a potential sacrifice for something they have a passion for.

However let's not pretend that excessive mass, along with excessive body fat is 'healthy'

Are you planning on putting a clip from the BBC coverage on IG? Seems like a good opportunity for some self-promotion that wouldn’t do your training business any harm.

Thanks, should be working upto 300kg+ snatch grip deadlift in the next several weeks, Becca 200kg+ and also 300kg/200kg ssb squat if can get a better bar. Everything's looking good for us both in training.

Yes will be putting some clips of the filming up today actually.

Size for the sport... but the model??how is that size in any way functional or healthy?

Lets be honest all of us in the 140+ range are taking the piss as it is but atleast we exercise!

Of course nobody is promoting sitting on your backside whilst eating a block of butter, we made that very clear in our Facebook posts. If a doctor is telling you that you need to lose weight due to health then of course listen.

The fact is most people in the UK are overweight or obese though so the plus size model is simply normal. Should she really feel bad about that? I say no and think its very important to be body positive.

Thats where we disagree. I dont think its good to be body positive if all you are is fat.

And just to clarify im not talking about becca im talking about the model. Becca trains bloody hard. And her size is a product of her goals, which i think is awesome.

Social media full of 30 stone women demanding that society stop saying its unhealthy can do one tho.

Agreed. Its a tough line. Culture needs to be both accepting of individuals and not reducing them to one dimensional characatures, but realising self destructive behavior isn't positive.

So being overweight dosnt make you a lesser human, and neither does it have to define you as a person. However it doesn't mean we have to praise that attribute and ignore the down sides.

That goes for a whole host of self destructive behavior!

I never understood people who deny it.

At a certain point it becomes obvious you are dangerously overweight, why lie to yourself about that?

I sit at around 130kg, given my complete lack of height im under no delusions that im a specimen of health. But ive always been very honest and upfront about that.

Completely agreed mate. I'm 5'9'' 155kg, yeah I'm strong as f**k atm, but yes it will shave years off my life being this weight. Anyone who doesn't think so is delusional.

Did you ever get your Heart Rate checked out?

For many I would include Food as a kind of Substance Abuse...I know we all like to spend the money the NHS doesn't have but more investment in Education and actually fixing this problem would be very welcome indeed.

How do you propose to fix the problem? Or is it your suggestion that more investment in education would begin to solve the problem?

I didn't but I will ask the physiologist about it at the uni! I have a theory that my heart rate gets too high for some events at comps especially when I get hyped up, wouldn't surprise me if it was up near 300
