The preludes seemed a bit dull with the odd lightbulb moment, but I think they played heavily on my emotional attachments to great characters set up in the original trilogy. The prequels were all out taking advantage of the fact that writers can get away with a lot more nowadays that would have been offensive in Franks time. The relationship between Erasmus and Serena Butler was evil and in parts leading up to the Butlarian Jihad were very near to the knuckle. I thought the lead up with the titans and cymeks was good background too. God knows how I remember this stuff after reading it once, but need my phone to tell me what I'm doing on any particular date  | ||

Some good moments and ideas but overall a bit bland | ||
