Whilst I can't deny your logic I'd worry that they were in cahoots just to get my $$$'s, and both stuck to their own made up version of the truth. An example is my mate found out that his nan had a affair during the war...long story short his gramps was not...gramps was actually a native American chief....he went all hippy and man of the forest when he found out. I asked my gran about my family tree and got back as far as my dad's mum's mum's mum's mum's mum and dad, who came from the island of Lesbos according to her. It didn't affect my life, but it was kinda cool. We (Turks) also have a tradition of naming kids after their parents, much like Magnusson being the son of Magnus. But I wanna go way back because Turks all have the same f**king name. I'd also like to visit Lesbos. | ||

Then, Irish/British and apparently 3% Russian. I tend to get approached by people who think I'm f**king Stormfront or BNP cos of the "look" but I'd much rather have a bit of Indian or something exotic. Might send off again and see if I can get a smidging of Italy & Greece. I'd love to lay claim to some vineyard somewhere in Western Italy. Still, most people I know who've done it (erm... maybe 4) somehow go all crazy about their small % of heritage. Especially if it's "8% Scandinavian". "look, look, told you I'm a f**king Viking" and completely ignore the 92% British. | ||

My result were pretty standard, mostly northern European. The bit that surprised me was 52% British. I would have expected higher but there you go. My wife's were totally funky, she's less than 25% British and has traces of DNA from pretty much the entire globe. That was a shocker. | ||
