Contact deserves a mention as far as aliens and other dimensions are concerned. Well, about 15 years ago I found it amazing. Jodie Foster is an excellent actress.

Interstellar is a thing of beauty and amazing ideas.

The Matrix is possibly the best sci-fi film ever made.

Dannyboy very radical movies choices indeed.

A little way out there for me some of these movies.

They Live (This is what is happening today with our media and the ruling elite, very David Icke)

Soylent Green A 1973 Film, Let just say interesting.

A boy and his dog with the one and only Don Johnson (Crockett)

Zardoz (The red nappy and knee high boots on James Bond Mr Sean Connery)

As for the Forbidden Zone, that is just about as experimental as it gets.

Let's just say you have gone very artistic in your choice.

Yes Contact is an excellent film.

It is a film that is overlooked but so very good and different from Aliens
pxxxxx off.

I never really got into or truly enjoyed Close Encounters Of The Third Kind,
maybe if I watched it again, maybe I would appreciate it.

But Jodie Foster in Contact is a excellent, I just warm to her character in all films.

Independence Day
Star Trek ...new one and first of the trilogy
Star Wars - Revenge of the Sith.

Moon and Sunshine are good. Hated Event Horizon. Oblivion was good, dont get why 'Day after tomorrow ' got all the stiffies.

District 9 is funny and entertaining.

Very good SF film indeed

Best SF I saw last year was Blade Runner 2049.

I think most of my fav SF films have been mentioned; Space Odessy, Alien, Blade Runner, Matrix etc. Not sure it's true SF, but John Carpenters 'The Thing' is one of my favourite films of all time. I have they up there with Alien for SF horror.

Love 'Fith Element' top.

Interstellar was good but didn't think was 'amaxing'. I preferred the Martian.

Star wars whilst imensily enjoyable I wpuld not place highly as an SF film.

Wrath of Khan is off course the best Star Trek film!

Also, Rollerball (1975) and Solarbabies (1986).Repo man (1984) All well worth watching.

Mainstream has to be Westworld!

Ex Machina! Of course.
I could watch that, just to listen to Alicia Vijkander's voice. However, the film premise is really convincing to me and I didn't see the final twist(s).

I found Gravity pretty entertaining and intense. I did however, watch it whilst high and in 3-d.

I also recently watched an enjoyable alien movie, named "life". Part terror, part sci-fi, part silly but moderately original.

Actually Arrival was the year before, wasn't it. Not sure I have an outstanding SF film from last year unless you count Logan. I liked BR and Ghost In The Shell a good deal, but for me they're not as strong.
