Cheers Ox, exactly, a decent session when not 100% is a good thing and as you rightly say, makes the difference.

Deadlift
60kg x 10
100kg x 5
140kg x 5
straps
170kg x 5
200kg x 5
200kg x 5
200kg x 5
Awesome, got the buggers this time Happy First set was tough enough, was going to call it a day at that as it was still a decent amount, but thought sod it, get the 3 sets done. Really happy I did now!!

Decline Bench
40kg x 10
60kg x 10
70kg x 10
80kg x 10
85kg x 10

Power Cleans
40kg x 5
60kg x 5
72.5kg x 5
72.5kg x 5
72.5kg x 5

Calf Raises
60kg x 15
70kg x 15
80kg x 15

Standing Cable Crunches
25kg x 15
25kg x 15
25kg x 15

Tabata: 15kg Ball Slams

Really good session, buzzing after it Happy Was very tough though as it was hot and airless in the garage even with the door open and with most of the exercises being big compound ones, by the end of the power cleans I must have lost 5-10kg in sweat Happy.
What made the session better thoguh was not only did I get the 3 x 5 @200 on the deadlifts, but each rep was clean (ie. no hitching) and reasonably quick.
So to celebrate a good session think it will have to be a Dominos night GrinGrinGrin

Squat
60kg x 10
90kg x 5
110kg x 5
130kg x 5
130kg x 5
130kg x 5
Didn't feel as good as it could, but each rep solid enough.

Bench
60kg x 10
80kg x 5
92.5kg x 5
102.5kg x 5
102.5kg x 5
102.5kg x 5
Decent, 1st set of 102.5 felt iffy, but other 2 went well.

Seated OH Press
40kg x 5
57.5kg x 5
67.5kg x 5
67.5kg x 5
67.5kg x 5

DB Row
27kg x 10
40.5kg x 12
40.5kg x 12
40.5kg x 12
Really good, bit annoyed I didn't do more, especially push the last set.

Barbell Curl
32.5kg x 10
32.5kg x 10
32.5kg x 10

KB Single Arm Swings
40kg x 10
Think I need a slightly lighter KB in the garage for these, to get more reps. Maybe 28 or 32?!

Good session. Soem things went better than expected like the rows, but squats felt worse than other days, but all in all a good solid session, all I can ask for Grin

Cheers Boar.

I have a fair few KBs (2 x 16, 1 x 20, 1 x 24, 2 x 28, 2 x 32 and 1 x 40), plus a 24kg concrete one somewhere, bloody massive.
All but the 40kg are in the house or in a box on my decking and by the time I decided to do them I couldn't be bothered to go and get one. Think I might take a 28 and a 32 into the garage ready for such a day when I decide to have a casual swing afterwards Happy

Only had few mins so went back to old faithful, a KB session.

KB Single Arm Snatches
16kg x 10
16kg x 10
24kg x 5
28kg x 3
Wow, these felt awkward and felt off balance, plus shoulders tight!

KB Snatches
20kg x 3mins = 48reps.
Not great

Band Pull Aparts
No1 Band x 20,20,20,20

Decent session even though it all felt naff Happy

What it taught me though is:-
1. I miss KB's
2. My fitness is worse after stopping doing them
3. My mobility is worse for not doing them.

I agree with all 3 of your points !

they should be kept in any workout routine , nothing fancy , but the basic moves will keep you in fine fettle

especially the snatch ...the amount of snatches I did with a 24 'back then' is pretty cool ...and I know I guy that did it with a 32 !! (secret service snatch test)
