How did you get on with it in/around training and how long did it affect you?!

I appear to have damaged the facet joint in my L4/L5 region; staying away from any lower back or legs training for 3-4 weeks, minimum

I've looked up all sorts of stretching exercises to do, so will do those to try and keep myself as pliable as possible, but this f**ker hurts and it's the first time I've really hurt my back this way (had other mid/upper back niggles, but never lower back)! Angry

Any suggestions/thoughts?!

Just to update

Been to see a sports chiropractor, as they concentrate/manipulate specific areas, whereas an osteo will look at the 'wider picture' etc

Turns out its my right hip/pelvis that isn't firing properly, lacks rotation capability badly and is fairly sedate TBH!

Had an hours session with some manipulation, cracking of certain areas and stretching of others... Will need to go back for a fair few appointments due to how 'stuck' it is...

But bloody hell; it feels sore but better/lighter already having it released!

However, no legs or lower back training for 3-4 weeks minimum, until he's happy with it's movement etc Angry

Get a good physio ( i was lucky to get the head physio in my hospital) and explain precisely the problem and how it affects you. Took me a long time to heal but getting there slowly.

Sounds very similar to my issues
Alot of it surrounded a weak core.....mine mainly due to a hernia. Not weak in terms of lifting but in supporting my back.

Yeah... Mines been that my lower backs being doing most of the work my hip/pelvis should have been doing and my core is now starting to suffer, hence the pain over the last few weeks!

Got certain exercises to do to try and kick start my pelvis/hip back into the right line, but they're hard as s**t and bloody agony at times haha Grin
