Just out of curiosity, for those that have used a normal slingshot (black one) what do you get out of it in terms of 1RM...

I have just returned from hospital following pneumonia/brain swelling and did a 240 friday then a steady 270 today with maybe 10kg more.... is this typical to get 40kg+ out of it or am I seriously lacking start strength?

Cheers

40kg is decent.
i did a tough 230kg after doing a comfy 205kg raw bench.
be surprised if i get more than 20kg reality. first time i used one i was in fact weaker.

The handful of times I used one I was getting 35/35kg out of it.

It was far too big for me though, so 40kg with one that's fits sounds about right

think if you are equipped carry over is far better due to training in shirt and being stronger lockout.
tom and kalle at ralls get far more out of their slaaaangers.

Good point Sir.

Poor show about the swollen brain Aaron, hope you're feeling better and on the mend.

Yeah horrific. Was speaking different languages and all sorts... Also don't rate lumbar punctures much!
All in all though it was only 5 days in hospital and I'm back training now. Small hurdle

About 40kg with the red.

Although just FYI the black one is the strong one. Red one is the normal one. Blue is lighter. Yellow is new, not tried that.

20-30kg for me, dependent upon how my shoulders are feeling etc...

But, that's why I got it. Allows me to overload and get used to the weight in the hands, so to speak, but also takes the pressure off my shoulders (namely left) when pressing heavy

I always was led to believe it was a similar to wraps for squat. Maybe a bit more.

About 30-35kg,I just failed a 200kg PB on Saturday with the Black Slingshot which is 30kg above my regular PB,but I had just done 170x5 180x5 and 190x2,but as is usual you think you'll bang out 200 easy, but not to be,about 3 inch short.

For me I'm training raw and use the mad dog for overload I typically get around 20-30k out of it easily but like I sad that's just using it for overloading and not maxing.

I'm 10kg lighter now so it's definitely looser
not maxed bench for a while on it did a reasonably comfy 220kg x 1 suspect
235kg would be about my limit (so dependent on a good line though) and raw bench somewhere round 210kg... So maybe a slight improvement seeing as it's loose now?

Do you find the 'Slaanger a usful tool in your raw training? Does it have actual carryover to your raw 1RM
