comp was a PB subtotal followed by another deadlift nightmare.

Opened on 292.5kg squat - nervy after Finland and not easy as wanted but got the lift - strict judging today had to go deeper than last year.

Opted for just 300kg second, sadly hurt my hip dropping down - had to bail. No 3rd taken.

Bench with hip not great dropped opener to 190 to make sure - easy lift

200 - easy but got 1 red! opted for safe 205 than 210

205 - bit harder but smooth - redlighted for not waiting for rack command

Deadlifts ... warmed up using Dohg/straps decided to take 245 with hook: Sliced thumb apart. Emergency drop to 260

Got lift no problems but hand bleeding again.

Did second with 280 but grip slipped from bloody hand. Retired

Finished 4/9 with just 752.5 - pretty crap as I felt good enough for over 800 today.

Going to return to mixed grip on pulls from now.

Won M1, second opens by about a million kg to tom lol.

Well done regardless mate.

The setup and organisation looked to be pretty awesome from what I've seen on Facebook. Definitely the better fed outside the Grandads 'in' Boring Pyjama's Federation

yeah - hook grip is DONE.. think you need hands the size of buckets to pull it off - vince urbank, brad gillingham all big units.
i don't think i can get my thumb wrapped round bar properly.

haha i will.. but i've decided my next comp will be a bench only..
i've looked on neilside and can see andy rigby has the all time masters lift at 100kg with 205kg in a comp.
without all the squatting bulls**t beforehand i'm good for that no problem.
in fact my 205kg was pretty straight forward yesterday in full power, just a stupid technical error at the end redlighted the lift.

Those are some very strong lifts. Very impressive. I do not know why but I like reading about peoples lighting exploits. Perhaps I am a Caucasian version of purple aki.

LOL but how do you measure people's lighting exploits in a sexually depraved and bizarre manner?
