My name is Steven , I am a fatty. Member 6048, 393 posts | Manage his behaviour in society...either in is own home or in a 'halfway house'. If neither of that is possible, removal to an institution capable of dealing with a complex individual such as himself. Unfortunately, neither the appropriate regulation, nor the expertise or funding can permit that strategy in the UK. The crossover area between mental health and the criminal justice system is an absolute mess.

The crossover area between mental health and the criminal justice system is an absolute mess. see this disconnect with a chronic alcoholic relative. 1 week rehab, gets a bit better.. let loose again, zero support. something f**ks up (and with alcoholics life is so chaotic all sorts of stresses and triggers) and back on the drink. then we get back to injury (caused by alcoholic cerebral ataxia, korsakofs) or low level crime/drunk driving etc.. withdrawal/DTs whilst incarcerated back into rehab and the cycle repeats ad infinitum.

Couldnt agree more, I spent some time at her majestys pleasure and through my time there, on the same wing i encountered the usual drug dealers and thugs etc but what was worrying was the amount of people with autism/aspergers syndrome and other severe mental illness locked up in the same wing! Most for offences that clearly stemed from thier mental illness. Did they deserve to be locked up? 100%. But not in a prison. they need help and support to manage thier behaviours.

Instead some prick asks a bunch of street gobshytes if they've seen him, put across a story which conflicted with the article (which i believe was constructed with actual evidence) on several key points, portayed the victims' stories exclusively and skimmed over just about everything which seemed important to fully rounding the story, reducing it to "horrible black man terrorises city, gets away very lightly".

doesnt work hard enough in the gym Member 1492, 2138 posts SQ 170, BP 145, DL 195510.0 kgs @ 112kgs UnEq | I spent a long time as a cop and was a custody sergeant for years - the amount of people I dealt with that were grossly unsuited to being in a police cell was huge. What do you do with someone who is creating havoc - people don't call an ambulance if someone is (and this is a real example) naked at 4am on a major road hitting passing cars with a sword? The amount of time I said to mental health services "this man is ill, he is not a criminal, if he had a broken arm you'd treat him" Sad state of affairs scruffmcbuff said: Couldnt agree more, I spent some time at her majestys pleasure and through my time there, on the same wing i encountered the usual drug dealers and thugs etc but what was worrying was the amount of people with autism/aspergers syndrome and other severe mental illness locked up in the same wing! Still got a little bit of strength Member 400, 22049 posts | Mental health issues must be hard to diagnose and treat. If someone has a broken arm that is easy to detect and treat. If someone says they are hearing voices, there is no way of verifying that. The brain is so complex. Has Purple Aki got any family or genuine friendships? I do hope he's got someone in his life.
