Kevin Levrone coming back at 52 to compete in the Mr Olympia, and looking huge and in great shape. Good examples to show people that the game ain't over just because you are greying and grumpy.

Sugdens crazy old person. Member 4936, 7288 posts SQ 270, BP 155, DL 270695.0 kgs @ 100kgs UnEq | In NAS Strongman 50 plus there are to 3 lightweights 1 to 2 heavyweighs. Not 5 competitors the combine raise the lightweights event weights and lower the heavyweights meeting in the middle. Charley Brown, I got a rock. Trick or treat. I pick treet. Bodybuilding looking fun. Compete in bodybuilding starting at 53 too late sir.

Mask it or Casket !! Member 4600, 8166 posts SQ 240, BP 162.5, DL 255657.5 kgs @ 90.5kgs UnEq | I think that Felix is a lovely set of genes. However, Wife said to me...if he still lives at 70? Only then he gets her respect...the body cant cope at 50 with his level of competition...according to Mrs dannyboy that is. Easy there tiger... In my mid-40s I retain a fair amount of strength...not the anger of my youth...and more injuries. But, as I have said before...even after 30 plus years of lifting weights - i still feel that i could yet to peak and become much stronger. Im a waste of genes. I guess there is a genetic element, most people think I look younger..I look a bit like psycho Dexter for my age. Time will tell I guess. I cant see myself not being just as strong or stronger in 10 years.

Deffo a good antidote to the idea of having to accept decline though.

Member 5141, 4186 posts SQ 300, BP 180, DL 350830.0 kgs @ 130kgs UnEq | Felix has mind boggling genes. The man just doesnt seem to age, my guess is this will remain true as long as he competes, then within a year of retiring he will transition from Adonis to old man. Or maybe im just jealous as f**k.

My dad once said whoever said life begins at 40 should be shot But Mark is a special case, unlike many strongmen he hasnt put on a huge amount of weight during his career, he told me that he was 5ft 11 at the age of 12 and I think he was the best part of 18-20 stones when he first started. Steve leigh is another good mention, he started in his teens and is now 55 and still can bench 220k raw at 110kg bwt.

Member 4923, 1795 posts | Is it true that Felix started quite late i.e. Mid thirties? I'm sure this is a contributory factor, but still phenomenal for him to be competing at such a high level at 50. Nick Best still going strong too.

Completely missed that amazing feat of strength. Phenomenal. Point about Felix starting later and not gaining massive amounts of BW-i.e. likely not abusing the vitamins heavily, is great point. His actual training age is a lot lower than his actual age.

AKA the great reset Member 4056, 5206 posts | Post Edited: 29.07.2016 @ 10:22 AM by AdamT Felix did start late. Obviously age comes into it, but it's miles on the clock. If you buy a 5 year old car with 50,000 miles and one with 150,000. Which car is most likely to have more longevity? I also think of football terms. Rooney is only 30, but looks past his best already. Matured fast and has played top flight footy since he was 16. He has as many miles on his clock, as many players a good few years older. This is why I think Z is the best. The man has been competing top level powerlifting/strongman for 2 decades and only now is he beginning to show some signs of slight slippage. Big Z is and always will be king.

The transformational effects of even scripted, Harley Street TRT levels cannot be understated on a 40+ man. If you can get stronger off your own natty production into your 50's (and not including starting aged 45 from being a couch potato) that is something remarkable.

I think we'll see a lot more plus 40 and 50 men and women looking and performing really well now that SARMS and TRT are much more widely known and accepted.

Big Z is and always will be king. Z has clearly done things the right way over the years. He has grown into being a huge guy, 160kg+, rather than blow/bloat up in five years. He also shrinks a lot in the off season in both size and bodyfat, so is clealry health focused as much as you can be at that super elite level. Felix is the same.
