I recall a doctor telling me, when I gave up drinking in '88, that if you suggest to anyone that he should give up drinking for a month starting right now, and he doesn't say "OK then" and do exactly that, then that man has a problem, maybe not a big one, but a problem none the less. At the time I considered that he was being very harsh, but over the years I have come to the conclusion that he was bang on the money. As right as right can be. My own position, and I speak as somebody who will go for weeks without a drink without any reason except that he happens not to have had one, is that you are talking utter rot and so was he*. If I suggest to you you should give up betting, or whoring, or training, or driving, or fruit, or meat, or bread, or television, for a month and you don't immediately say "ok then" and do it, it doesn't follow you have a problem. It follows that you don't give up things you enjoy for no reason other than that some weird c**t suggested it. * if, on the other hand, he meant - and I consider this very likely - when he suggests it IN HIS CAPACITY AS THEIR DOCTOR BECAUSE OF REASONS - then he has a perfectly reasonable point.

I quite agree, I have always assumed that there was en element of harm or excess in his suggestion. For example if I were losing more than I could afford when gambling, then I really should give up. I also suspected that he could tell much from the reaction of the person he suggested it to. For example, if I gave up whoring then I also give up sex. Whereas a person who gives up drinking is only giving up alcohol, he can still have drinks-a-plenty, just no alcohol. Of course this also may be another example of complete bollox.

Oh I wasn't, it's been a good friend to me over the years. I don't class it as sex though, for that, in my humble opinion, you need a partner. Or if very lucky, more than one.

Hyper obese Pete Member 70, 17871 posts SQ 322.5, BP 205, DL 300827.5 kgs @ 133kgs Eq | In fact I had just such a partner last night, she knocked on my door a little before seven thirty and left about a quarter to nine. I made tea and sat down to watch TV, I awoke at midnight and thought it would be rather a good idea to microwave the tea, drink it and retire. I never made it off the couch, but awoke once more at three. I made it to bed that time. The tea finally got re-heated at nine this morning. So on and off I slept for almost twelve hours which is really rather rare for me. Who would have thought that excessive tongue movement would be so tiring ? I may just try it again some future Saturday to see if it was a fluke

Hyper obese Pete Member 70, 17871 posts SQ 322.5, BP 205, DL 300827.5 kgs @ 133kgs Eq | The speaking clock is eighty years old this weekend. So Hurrah for the speaking clock. It is said that the biggest surge in calls to the clock was after the introduction of the redial button, when calls increased by about thirty percent and those calls lasted only for a second or so. It was quite the mystery until someone realized the connexion between the two.

There are five basics, two with the tip of the tongue, one with the flat of the tongue, one with the mouth and one with the month and the tongue. Speed and pressure can be varied hugely with all of them and one technique can be switched to another in a heartbeat, at all times be instructed by the breathing rhythms or the instructions of the woman you're doing it to. That's all you get until you buy me a burger One day, some years ago, just before Christmas, I was about to leave Oldham after seeing a very firm, blonde girl named Rachel. "In a couple of weeks" I told her, "I will return and book you for two hours, the first of which I will spend licking you within an inch of your life" "Is that my christmas present?" she asked delightedly. "No" I replied "It's mine" And there my splendidly-calved, fat friend, in those six lines, is the real key to success Make it two burgers now

Hyper obese Pete Member 70, 17871 posts SQ 322.5, BP 205, DL 300827.5 kgs @ 133kgs Eq | On the way to Adders today, I drove through a town called Boothstown. I saw a young man of about thirty years, maybe a little less, with a walk that was so unusual that it could not fail to be noticed. He marched almost to attention but his arms were at about forty five degrees to his body. He looked as if he owned the street. I do believe that everyone saw him and everyone thought him very impressive "what a t**t" sort of way. If I could walk like that I wouldn't. But I did feel it worthy of mentioning.

What, or pardon? Personally I would say "pardon". I was taught that it was polite to say "pardon" and that "what" was quite impolite. However, having said that, there is a vague and very distant bell ringing softly in the back of my mind that I once heard a so called etiquette expert saying that this is something that everyone gets wrong. That Royalty and proper blue bloods would say "what" and only the hoi polloi would say "pardon". If that memory is correct I will ignore it and continue to say "pardon" and I don't get to meet many blue bloods these days.
