British people have no f**king spine. Atleast have the front to stand by your choice.
No just s**t your pants and panic because it hasnt turned in to a bed a roses the second the vote came out.
Oi vay.

I agree, it also shows the lack of knowledge of the subject that people had before voting.

But they didn't know that was their choice, they thought "leave the EU" meant something different, as like as not - remain in the EU but show the government that you are jolly angry

When I started work many years ago, the guy showing me the job asked if I remembered my schooldays, I said I did.

"Do you remember that you used to write stuff like I have a dog, my dog is big, my dog is black, my dog is called Ben and they taught you to write "I have a big, black dog called Ben"

I did remember and told him so

"Forgot all that stuff" he said, "I have a big, black dog called Ben" is far too complicated for ninety percent of the public - go back to I have a dog, my dog is big, my dog is black, my dog is called Ben"

I thought he was being harsh. Within a couple of years I agreed with him. Forty odd years on - I still do.

I agree with your old colleague too. off topic slightly, what job was you doing that made that rellevant? im curious to know.lol

I hear that alot, that the brexiters thought it was an act of rebellion.
It saddens me that people are so unedcuated that they dont even know what thier vote actually means, and collectivly thier vote, based on what ever it is that swayed them still counts.

To be fair, I've got an LLB, I'm an economist and have a real interest in politics and I have no idea what a vote to 'leave' actually meant. I still don't, no one does. Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying.

Rick may well be right. The mistake may have been giving the public the choice in the first place. We won't know for a long time yet.

That's not quite the same thing though is it ?

If you were standing in my home and I told you to leave, you may not know where you will go to but you would understand that standing in my home would no longer be an option and you would have to go somewhere. That is the not-at-all-subtle difference

It wasn't relevant as such.

I worked for Gardner engines and a customer would come on and say that they had ten engines to specification ABC and wanted the parts to convert them to specification XYZ. I had to list out the relevant parts and arrange to have them sent.

He was merely illustrating that just because I had the wit to write a fairly uncomplicated sentence it would be quite wrong of me to assume that most people would have the wit to understand it

I know what I voted for and I'd vote it again ,of course things are going to go to s**t for a while did any other serious exiter think it wasn't going to?

I have no doubt they will make us vote again and again like they did with Ireland and France,or a they will try and cut a special deal.they are going to have to come up with other ways to shame people into voting their way obviously name calling didn't work,
The thing that really upsets me is the massive amount of division it's caused which was expected and I fear is going to get worse.

But the amount of poison and venom that has and still is spat everywhere is horrendous.

The votes been done the country needs to get on with it instead of whining otherwise we really will be f**ked.because Brussels like a scolded wife wants us out before we can pack our bags!

There was something on the news earlier that if the turnout is over 75 percent then a simple majority will do it, but if the turnout is under 75 percent then the majority has to be at least 60 percent or we have to do the whole thing again.

Dunno if that is true but the TV expert seemed to think it was an option.

Also heard that there is an internet petition to that effect

In fact here it is -

Me telling you that you can't stay in the house means you realize that you can't stay in the house, you may not know where you will go, but you know you cannot stay

Me telling Joe Public that they can't stay in the house means they think that they can stay and only when I physically hurl them through the door does the penny begin to drop

Looks inevitable the economy will shrink, commodity prices to rise, a weak pound is good for exports but we import more than export so unsure of any benefit to us here.

So we get a nice recession, and with ukip now saying no less immigration, no less damage and reduction in funding to the NHS and other public bodies, likely even less jobs for the locals to fight the Eastern Europeans over .
Beggars belief people thought a couple of privately educated wealthy Neoliberals somehow had the interests of the working man at heart or even crazier that we wouldn't actually leave if the majority voted to do so and their vote was just some sort of protest.

I see the protest poll is now approaching 2.5m signatories only a day after starting.. suspect this is far from over.

Yep heard the same thing also seen the petition.it will be intresting I've even heard talk of the imminent attack by Isis being blamed on the exit, which is strange because even though borders won't be under full control for sometime yet when they are you'll need passports and go though points systems or what ever control they want to put in place making it tougher to enter the country if you are a terrorist.think there will be a lot of scapegoating of the back of all this seems to be the Tory way.not to say there won't be huge hurdles though.
