Lost his pen, then found his pen. #phew Member 4899, 2956 posts | Cheers for the link, been looking forward to this. No idea why it's held in a Nightclub, however...

Good lifting also by Emily Godley Zoe Smith, such a shame that she injured herself on the first snatch, hope its nothing too serious. Sarah Davies bombed, poor choice of opener Men's 77s and 85s seemed a bit lack lustre and low on real quality, though no disrespect to the guys that had qualified and lifted Mens 94s, a really good battle between Webster and Boxall. Thought Boxall had pinched it with his last C&J as didn't think Webster had another 4k in him, but to his credit he did and nailed it!!! Was disappointed to see Darius bomb again Was impressed with the quality of the production of the streaming, very professional. This is definitely the type of image we need to raise the profile of the sport

Lost his pen, then found his pen. #phew Member 4899, 2956 posts | Dipped in and out of the stream all day...production was good but, as I said, not a fan of the Nightclub look but that is a minor quibble. Tiler's 102 & 227 are British Records, are they not? I really like her "Ilyin" starts, although I don't know how much of a favour they always do for her...

Didn't realise that was allowed! (No reason it shouldn't be, but that doesn't normally make any difference...)

I like her no nonsense style but don't think it helps her on her very top lifts. I think if she had taken a little more time after the 128 clean I think she would have had a better chance of jerking it, but that is just my opinion

Lost his pen, then found his pen. #phew Member 4899, 2956 posts | Yeah, I think if she hit her openers more consistently it would be a lot more difficult to question it. Anyone know what Smith's injury was? It was a horrible catch on that first catch and it looked like she was clutching her arm pit - I should probably know but was she carrying an injury there going in? She didn't look her usual self coming onstage.

Not sure what the injury is, but BWL have put a statement on their website saying that her injury will be fully assessed before the spots for Rio as decided, and that more than just this weekends performances are taken into account for selection. So basically saying don't write her off for an Olympic spot just yet. Hopefully if she gets the spot then she wont go into it carrying any after effects of this weekend.

what is everyone's fran time? Member 3986, 10443 posts SQ 340, BP 200, DL 400940.0 kgs @ 129kgs Eq | I think it would be unfair to give the spots to anyone other than who performed the best on the day. Going on what-ifs is shaky ground

You have Smith for whom this will probably (almost certainly) be the last chance vs Tiler who would benefit greatly from the experience. In terms of totals they are pretty similar - I think Smith as the better Sinclair but can you argue with two spanking new British Records?? Can we do a King Solomon on this one?

a cynical old scrote Member 68, 6840 posts SQ 255, BP 132.5, DL 250637.5 kgs @ 110kgs UnEq | It is clear in the selection criteria that individual performances across a number of events will be taken into account. I'm not even sure they will look at Sinclair, at the end of the day they need to look at who is likely to place the highest in their class should they go. It is all about results, and while medals aren't on the table, a potential top 10 finish would trump a potential top 15. As such an eye has to be had to how competitive the respective classes of our potential Olympians will be. This could ultimately result in the lesser lifter (based on sinclair / results) going because their class would be less competitive.

Agree, they both really deserve to go, it's a crying shame we only have one spot. It is likely to be Zoe's last chance, but it would be wrong to send her not fully fit if the shoulder injury is a bad one. I tend to think Zoe would place higher than Rebekah in their respective classes, so my money would be on her going.
