For some reason I find 210 a very enjoyable number of kilos.

Nice strong sumo. Why the semi-wide stance?... not that there is anything wrong with it. Was that double overhand or hook grip?

thank you all for the comments. Allow me to address them:

- Im not a big fan of 210kg. Im not sure why, its not that bad but i just don't like it that much. Whenever i hear or see the number i always immediately think of the time when it was my best deadlift for a while.

- thank you Ric. I hope they were to depth, but i don't want to know if they weren't.

- I also enjoy the term semi sumo. One of the topics discussed in the gym today which made me heavy loal was the school of thought that if a semi sumo deadlift is a semi sumo deadlift, does that make a conventional deadlift be a flaccid sumo deadlift?

- It was hook grip. All my deadlifts are done with hook grip, unless I'm using straps.

- I could go into detail about why i did semi sumo today but it would take ages to explain, so il just say its because its a strong position for me. I used to be very good at it, and now i will attempt to do that again.

I also find semi sumo stronger, probably because I find it easier to break the floor than with a wider stance. I choose to pull flaccid.

i pull with my toes touching the plates. I once dropped 300kgs on my toe.
The result was ghastly.

Good journalistic evening to you Jack.

I hope you have enjoyed your Sunn bathing.

I gave them a listen, not quite my thing I'm afraid.

Currently listening to Baroness who I find to be very mastodon-esque.

You have to approach it from a different point of view. Don't think of it as music, think of it as a sculpture of sound. I believe we all have been conditioned to enjoy music that is very quick to reward you for listening to it. Whether it be a really catchy tune or a really joey break down, almost all music is confined to various rules which make it "listenable". 4/4 time signature, 2 minutes 50 seconds, fairly basic structure... Whatever. Whether you like it or not (and i definitely wouldn't blame you for not liking it), Sunn o))) demonstrates that music doesn't have to follow the rules.

I could really go off on a tangent here but I will not do. Instead I will post a link to probably my favourite band at the moment, whom i saw at desertfest.

I did 'get it' after a few songs, once I realised the complete and deliberate lack of percussion I figured it certainly wasn't music in the conventional sense, more of a 'sound' or an 'atmosphere'.

I imagine performed live and tripping your deca nips off it would be an experience to say the least. Just obviously not a form of quick, go to, easy listening.
