I think IPF is ok from watching the classic and equipped worlds.
no gifts given but not a red light fest either. As i said before Ray Williams efforts
were looking just in and getting whites (which is exactly as it should be)
The one fed that has got a bad rep for excessive depth is the USAPL.
Jesse Norris squats a while back getting red lighted were utterly ridiculous.
he couldn't get any deeper if he tried.

I can't remember exactly, but not sure if he got reds for weak hips/knees locking. He has the bar so low down on his back.

I'd agree with you, I didn't question his depth.

Seen bigger farces in terms of lifts wrongfully given in "other feds" though.

If it's just in, then it's in, simple really.

If it's just in, then it's not visually an awful lot different from not in. People make mistakes under pressure, if it's "just in" then you're making the refs job harder and increasing the chances of him making a mistake. Doesn't mean the enitre federation has an unreasonable depth requirement.

And I still maintain that you see far less good squats failed in the IPF than you see very clearly bad squats passed in other feds.

actually the depth rules are all pretty much the same across all feds. its just that the IPF doesn't judge to its own rules. a crease of the hip at the waist just bellow the top of the knee squat is a good squat in the rules of every fed. but the IPF judge to a foot bellow. so not to the rules at all. making their judging of depth as innacurate and s**t as Southern Powerliftings.

Lol you went in a different direction than I expected after the first sentence. In any federation there will happen mistankes but IPF is not even close to being the worst. Ive lifted at Jr IPF worlds and by no means do I set the world on fire with my depth but I got white lights for my hip crease moving just below the top of my knee. If they were as harsh as you say no SHW would ever get a white light.
