Hi Malc, nice to hear from you again.

Wednesday 23rd March.

First session since last Wednesday. Refereed at the Masters over the past weekend, some very nice lifting was witnessed. I hope people were not too disappointed with some of my decisions!
Just 4 lifters at the Farm tonight, unfortunately this is not really enough to keep the club viable and we estimate that we could go out of business before the year end. Unhappy
Bodyweight 114.2Kg - Too fat.
Blood sugar 11.2 - Too high.

Squat.

No real issues, just not feeling it with squats at the moment.

Fairly light bench session and happy with the 6x100, 7 would not have been there.

First session for a week so kept the numbers light. My next competition will be the EM Masters on July 30th so i'll just tick over until I return from vacation in May before starting a 10 week un-interrupted build up - hopefully.

Six lifters at the Farm tonight, a few years back it would have been 16!
Blood Sugar very high at 15.1.
Bodyweight climbing at 115.65Kg.

Deadlift.

2 x 1 x 217.5 Failed both, 1st attempt never moved 2nd attempt came up to my knees.

No the session I was expecting.

Was expecting a single at 127.5 tonight but after the 120 I knew it wasn't on.

Feeling a little better after a couple of days sleep! Seven lifters at the Farm tonight but unfortunately we had to suffer Stewarts ghetto blaster.
Blood Sugar - 11.7 Too high.
Bodyweight - 115.75 Too fat.

Since the injury this happens every time i'm on the limit. That said, it's the first time I've even attempted this weight since before the injury which was now way back in 2011 so not too upset.

Just 3 lifters at the Farm! Strange how the sport is getting so popular but the Farm lifters are vanishing. Only me & Stewart properly training, Forklift has a tweak so just did light stuff and spotting.

Six lifters at the Farm today. Everything was a little rushed though, there was a hockey group in the gym until 5 and some crossfit types at 7 so no time to be wasted.
Bodyweight 114.65, still too fat.
Blood Sugar 9.2, a little better than of late.

Good to see that your bodyweight is down over the past few days and that your blood sugar has also been decreasing. Keep it up.

Out of interest - what would happen to yourself and the other members who train at the farm if/when it closes?

If the Farm closed Funky, the main powerlifters (4 or 5 of us) would probably up sticks with our kit and train down with the Yardley lifters.

Hopefully wont come to that though. It costs us around £4,000 / year to keep the club going and our income from members subs is typically around £2,2000 leaving us with an annual shortfall of about £1,800. Over the years we have received local grants and sponsorship which has probably averaged around £300/year.

Last year we made £1,200 from hosting competitions including the All England, however we usually donate 50% of the profit towards the English team expenses at the 4 nations (i'm reasonably sure that no other event organisers do this).
So you can see we generally lose around £900/year. When we moved to Moulton 8 years ago we had over £8,000 in the bank, now it's nothing like!

We will probably put members subs up and reduce the donation to English Powerlifting this year. I wonder how many of the lifters that represent England at the 4 nations appreciate that their entrance fees and kit has come from the Farm members and friends efforts?

The blood sugar issue appears to getting a little better, 6.2 today, that makes me normal for the first time in many a while.
