No he wont, but he still will need to respected... Z has such longevity, has so many world records and has won so much.

In some respects, you can say Brian has achieved a lot in a much smaller space of time, so he deserves respect. However I think if you compare them alongside each other, people will always favor Z.

You could argue that Brian started off in a more competitive era. Don't get me wrong Z is still the greatest. However if Brian were to win a few more WSM and Arnold classics, he and his fans would have the right to claim he is number 1.

I was playing Pointless on a quiz machine the other night! One of the questions was "men who have won the WSM title"

Naturally I avoided the likes of Kaz, Z and Shaw and selected Janne Virtenen!

The opponent went for Shaw!! Wahoo, I thought, I've won here!

Virtanen - score or 27!! Shaw - score of 1!!! ONE!!!! I nearly dropped my pint all over the place!! FUMING!! Just proved 100% that these quiz games are completely rigged!!

Z is probably the greatest ever largely due to his longevity but I do think Shaw gets under rated. Remember that in WSM and Arnold Shaw's biggest weakness gets hit in every final. Z's biggest weakness (his grip) rarely gets tested these days.

Since Shaw won his first WSM he has won 3 Arnolds to Z's 1 and 3 WSM titles each. In fact Shaw is a dropped sandbag away from having more WSM titles than Z in total.

No doubt that over the last 5 years Shaw has been the worlds most successful strongman.

This is true. I think Z gets more praise because he is seen as more static. In the end of the day, it is strongman, not powerlifting. Thor is currently a better strongman than Ed, but Ed has more static power. Competitions won, is what really matters.

Shaw definitely has the edge, these last few years. Both great Strongman!

That's funny. I thought Shaw looked massive in the Brazil beach photo on his facebook page (certainly compared to Radz). It's hard to tell with Z. I don't think he looks as big as he did in 2014 when he weighed 400+ lbs.

If Z's back is 100% he may win. If not, there are too many guys that are close to him statically now for him to win (assuming everyone comes in top shape). He's likely a shoe in for log press even with a bad back. Everything else though would be a question mark.

massive?

i just see radz next to a guy who loves insulin more than water and air

since he competes strongman Shaw has done as much competitions as Z in his first season

big difference in static power, signature events for Z -loglift
longevity

plus i keep saying it over and over

Shaw is done
past his peak

Donnie how do you Shaw Is on more Insulin than Z. I'm sure most top guys use similar stuff.

They won't want to give edge to anyone.

End of an era.

They both judge strength purely on pressing.

Shaw pressed Austrian Oak x 2 in 2014 and failed it in 2015.
