Training grinds to a halt now as whilst I was pressing the log press overhead this morning I fell over and the weight dropped on my face. Resulting in a likely nasal fracture... I have to go back to A&E next week once the inflammation dies down so they can assess the full damage and see if I need an operation to the nose. I had sutures to my nostril and sutures to my chin. My nose is blocked and I can only breathe through my mouth at the moment and it hurts to talk or eat.
Face is still swollen and slight ongoing nose bleed with continued pain in the area and rest would be sensible at this time.

Eek

That sounds pretty awful. Glad to hear that the injuries hopefully aren't as bad as they could be after dropping a loaded bar on your face.

I don't have any specific targets and would like to get all round strong and balanced. I believe I need to do develop the trunk further to support the structure.
180kg 8-10 rep deadlift would be extremely difficult and currently well out of reach. I managed 140kg x5 back squat a few months ago, will work up to it again and hopefully beyond. 80kg bench x8 I did for a few sets a few months ago, Including a session managed 100kg x3 without a spot. I do notice how my bench has declined recently though, partly due to doing it following high rep squats which exhaust me.

I was flat on the ground from the fall and it was the log which dropped on my face and bounced behind me. Inflammation has gone done considerably. Nose is deviated and sutures from chin and nostril/septum out on Friday. Next week will visit the ENT fracture clinic to see if I need to go under general anaesthetic to have my nose reset. They have to wait for the swelling to go down completely before assessing it. Yes Yaman, I agree with you, I was a massive t**t.

Light training today to get back in to it. Hope to do more compound movements soon.

My nose was confirmed to be fractured. Had small operation yesterday under general anaesthetic to have it re-fractured and set back in to place. Op has went well and breathing has improved since nasal bone has been re-aligned opening up the nasal channel.

Haven't had much sleep and in a bit of disarray. Some light training and movements later to get back in a routine and looking forward to a long committed training cycle.

Loving the volume. Did you lose any weight when during your face-crushing downtime period?

Setting up my home gym on Saturday. Will then be trying to get not fat for another month or 2 and will then be starting a serious strength-building cycle. Maybe we will actually both enter a comp together again this year? July/Aug/Sept would probably be good for me.

Volume could be better yet compared to before it is considerably greater. Haha 'face-crushing downtime', yes, I lost some bodyweight recently but it's coming up again.

2016 GPC-GB South East Qualifier on the 6th August, We will do this!
