Main thing I would say is try to stick with the rehab. It can get very tedious but is well worth the effort, I was doing about 2 hours a day for several months before I got signed off.

As for training, I was back squatting (in the smith machine so you can hold it with one arm) in about 6 weeks and deading very light after about 10 weeks I think. It took about a year to get back up to decent weights again. It's about 20 months since my operation now and for my weight I'm the strongest I've ever been, shoulder plays up just a touch every now and then, but nothing that a few days off benching doesn't fix.

I lost about a stone, but put it back on again quickly once I could train again. Think the pain got a fair bit better after about 10 or so days and after 2 weeks I was just taking codine on a night time, think it was about a month until I stopped taking them altogether.

Think positively dude, if nothing else it is now fixed!

Plenty of time to let all your niggles and such to heal.

You'll have time to catch up with some reading, TV etc, and at least that means you won't be spending the money you're not earning.

I was off for 6 weeks and light duties for another month or so after my delt reattachment. Had a s**tty time with infections and drugs and all that s**t, but 6 months later I was back in the gym, 12 months and I was snatching. Just over two years post surgery I snatched 115 and jerked 150.

Stay positive, it looks like a long ass road ahead, so imagine looking back down the road from the other end, it will seem much better.

Drop me a message if you want a chat and cuddle.

Never took any time off mate as I'm a self employed computer bod and do a lot of work from home, operation Saturday and working Monday. You can forget any manual labor type stuff for some time obviously, I don't think I would have been able to do that for a few months and I couldn't drive for about a month. What is it you do?
