Can you tell me what you know about glute pain please?

4 months ago my left glute cramped during reppy deadlifts. Ever since that it hurts in every rep of squats between coming out of the hole until lockout. It's worsened as the weight increases. It isn't getting better and if I can't make it go away, chances are my squat and deadlift days are over.

Any thoughts, ideas etc?

i really don't know I'm afraid. iv had enough trouble diagnosing my own thing. Does it ever click? if so it could be the SI. Have you tried lacrosse balling it?

I have spent probably over a thousand pounds getting various treatments and stuff and to this day its the same as it ever way. the only thing iv ever done that has helped is simply taking the weights right down to like 30kg and slowly building back up. Iv given up spending money on it, theres better things i could be spending it on. For example i want an espresso machine, that would bring me more pleasure than a useless treatment.
rant over.

today:

warmed up with no stretching, instead i did various single leg movements.

deadlift

90kg x 5,5

romanian deadlift

3 sets of chin-ups through out the session

3 sets of rear delta

some reverse hyper

cardio until 100kcal had gone (which i ended up replacing with a scoop of whey when i was testing the new flavdrops)

Jack, I enjoy a coffee. I recently bought a Nespresso machine with milk frother for £100. Would recommend, it's enjoyable.

Buy one.

Espresso shots are approx 30p each, machine here:

Elliot, i did actually look into that but id rather get one that is more proper.

other guy, i am currently somewhere around 87kg, maybe a wafer thin bit more than that. This means i have lost about 11kg over the past few months, so i almost certainly have lost some muscle. I am somewhat jacked but i am certainly more aesthetic than i used to be.

I believe I got it on offer for around 150 magic beans however it was a few years ago so can't be sure, they are normally a lot more.

It's this one: http://www.anothercoffee.co.uk/products/item100315.aspx

I never milk either, it is very good for espresso but the results are very much dependent on the quality of the coffee, the coarseness of the grind and the pressure used to tamp it down. In other words it takes a bit of getting used to before you start getting consistent results.

That, I believe, is why these 'pod' things are so popular

Try one before you rule it out.

Read the post again, I'm spending the money I save from not going to the chiropractor on a coffee machine. In addition to this I am selling off assets that I no longer need which are depreciating. I can spend my money how I want
