I think it is. Some people will say is not doing proper exercises doing push ups and s**t but i feel like if i can handle doing log grip handstand push ups at 140kg, i should be able to log press 140kg. Keep in mind i'll be doing push press at a minimum and probably jerks.

Sounds like a well-rounded approach - a good mix of strongman and weightlifting training.

I actually think you can do the challenge - certainly won't do you any harm trying!

Yeah it's very doable, i should be able to push press 140 easy really but we'll see.

Just got finished with an hour and a half on my massage machine. Got all back as well as hams and calves done. Definately feel i can get my arms above my head without as much force coming against it now. Will be doing this more often, is painful as f**k but only going to get tighter and tighter and to tight already so needs done. Will do shoulders, chest and triceps in a couple days.

Were you the other person that was in on the bet? To be honest i cant remember who it was but there were a couple people that seemed to think they were in on the bet but actually werent as they had not understood it right. Was only two that had. If you claim to be i will have to check back through the log before we can confirm the new bet.

Yep, new bet is excepted.

Edit - lol just read how you put it, doesnt seem i have much to gain haha i'm looking at like saving myself £100 an if i can't log 140 then i feel paying £200 out is more than justified.

You have great grip have you ever thought of doing Ninja Warrior?

Also due to your boxing past you should be fine in the dancing stones... And are tall so could get up the wall

Infact I've not looked at the finals but I reckon it could be something you could train towards if you wanted

The reason I say that is due to it being very grip orientated... I think anyway

Recently I was listening to a podcast talking about a psychological phenomena whereby most people would rather not lose say £100 of their own money after putting it up rather than having the chance of winning it.

Well of course because you cant use straps outside the gym but i think i would do terrible at something like that. I'm 140kg now and will prob be like 160kg by end of year. I'm naturally athletic but no 160kg bloke is doing well at that kind thing. Pound for pound my grip would be lagging compared to the top ones on that as they will weigh like 60kg or something. It's like a gorilla vs a chimp, a 500lb gorilla is muscular as hell, quads like ronnie coleman, forearms big as bowling balls, known for its crazy grip strength. However compared to the seemingly unimpressive 180lb chimp it's only 70% strength pound for pound. You also have to think of the falls, it's a much higher impact, i could break my back, or tear a muscle really bad.

Very sensible Paul. Ninja warrior is very different to heavyweight boxing, which carries no risk of injury or death at all, and which you could have got through on your natural aptitude for working the pads and athleticism alone.

I just want to do strongman but ninja warrior way more risk of injury and death than boxing for me for sure, i move out the way of punches well and hit hard. You slip and land on your neck at 300lb an your f**ked.
