Basically i'd just like some advise on which competition i should do as my first one? The only thing is, i'm in Exeter from the 27th April (for 10 weeks) at uni, then i'll be back home (in Cheadle, Staffordshire), after that for a fairly long time (at least 3 months). I don't mind travelling really, as long as the comp is easily accesible via train travel. On the specific type of comp, i really don't mind, i'd just really like to compete. I have however never had the chance/priveledge to use "strongman" type equipment and feel that this would be a massive disadvantage (i have no access to this type of stuff). Chances of winning are not too important too me, i'd just like to get involved and compete (obviously doing well would be nice). Another note, i currently am hovering at just under 75kg, i would like to focus on bulking this year and get up to a respectable weight (I am 5ft 7" btw) of around 80kg, but if you suggest a powerlifting comp, it would obviously be in my best intrests to stay under 75kg i would assume.

So, after that unnessecarily long post, any one got any ideas?

No suggestions fellas? I was just looking through the comp archive and the Adlington OH and Pull would be right up my street. Any plans on running anything like that in the near future? I'd make a day trip up to sugden/adlington or wherever.

I'm sure there will be an Adlington comp this summer... they're probably just waiting to find a good date for it which will be a touch tricky with all the comps on in summer time.

Keep a look out on the forum and I'm sure one will be announced enough.... Rob and Boar make a double come back maybe??!? Eek

GBPF Lancs and Cheshire 24th May is a perfect first comp in my opinion... if you could get up North for that it would suit you down to the ground.... friendly atmosphere perfect for comp debut.

All the best with it mate Happy

Rob: Thanks alot for the reply, the GBPF Lancs and Cheshire does look like it would be a good first comp, not sure i'd be able to get up there due to uni commitments etc though Unhappy . But just out of intrest, what would the qualifying total be for an under 75kg under 23 year old? Also, would i need to sign up to the GBPF?

Boar:- Thanks, the 440 seems high (compared to the equipped number), but i'm sure i could nail it. I'd be looking for a 460-470kg total (not too good i know, but this is what i'm pretty sure i could get). Just another completely stupid question.... Would i need to "qualify" for this comp?

As I said on DSM (Tim by the way if you're wondering who the f**k I am) one of our lot has an u90kg SM comp in a couple months, you should do that, a few event sessions and you'll be more than ready.
