greetings everyone.

Im considering spending £120 on an axle bar but heard you can make one from
scaffold. Is this alright/strong enough?

dont want my experiments resulting in decapitaiton/snapped neck etc!

Any info would be great to help develop my mini-strongman area the missus has so kindly donated to me. LOL

cheers

I got the uni gym to buy me an Ironmind one for £260 from Pullums! Grin

A scaffy pole is fine though, Ive had 280kg on my ironmind one and no bend at all.

Thats good to know mate as im hoping to pile on the weights eventually.

Do you just put some collars on the bar to stop the weights sliding into
the centre of the bar or does it need some sort of welding?

If your up to speed with the ol' welding I'd just weld acouple of rings on. You don't want things sliding around up there

Scaffy bar was spot on for me. drilled two 8 or 10mm holes and nut and bolt through for collars. Had over 440kg on it lots of dropping onto the racks and it was fine.

Only thing I`ve found is its slightly too thin for spring collars but a bit of duck tape round the bar soon sorts that

Scaffold pole is ever so slightly thinner than axle though .. i felt the differance in the last comp and it cost me a couple of reps but i`ve got girls hands s**t for axle deadlift great for a wank...

Im the opposite. big hands which are fine for the axle but not so flattering when it comes to wanking
