What if said sprinter is doing other weight work for his hammies, glutes and hips, overloading them in similar motor patterns to how they use those muscles sprinting?
I actually agree with your point, but I see much high brow bulls**t from lifters that athletes 'are doing it wrong' or 'would be better if...' - It has about as much credibility as a non-strength athlete telling a lifter how best to lift.

It's very easy to be quad dominant, that's the problem. The hammies lag behind with most athletes and this makes ground contact time slow. Weights exercises i see athletes doing regularly are - quarter squats, cleans, snatch, bridges, tying a band to the feet and mimicking the sprint action (for hip strength), deadlifting mostly with a trap bar, bench press. There's so much!

I guess if you have the time and energy then you can do everything. I dont have the energy so i choose 3-4 gym exercises only that get the best bang for your buck, and i do them as good as i can, all year. I had average talent for athletics, but as soon as i started weights like this i improved dramatically. I think talented athletes can do whatever in the gym, they already have the gift. It shows when guys like Carl Lewis didnt do weights at all, and ran alot of 400m in training. If i did that i would lose alot of power and speed.

A few athletes ask why i power clean so much. I say, 'the same reason you can run and jump much better than me, talent'. All i do is clean twice a week at whatever weight i feel like doing. It's unfair, but talent rules

I also read Bolts book and it will piss alot of people off how good he was.

Leverhulme s**te?
I agree. They re built that place when they should have spent the money on quality equipment.
It actually winds me up how nobody realises this.

I was surprised at the s**te facilities when I did some coaching experience work their , utter garbage innefective set up , none of the sprinters were good-(BIG SIGN OF LACK OF POWER TRAINING HERE) coaches were all voluntary , not a medal in sight on any of the walls -(NOTHING TO ASPIRE TO), track was quality though , tons of potential though in the youngsters I coached sad to know none had any chance especially in the explosive distance track and field if they trained solely their

Lucky c**t, I really dont like it when people dont put their talent to full potential although I know that sounds daft as he is the best sprinter of all time.

I can't post the link from my phone but Robert Foestermann (sp? ), the guy with the big legs in the pic posted a few pages back, has some pretty sweet squat vids on his Instagram. They were linked to on ATG a while back.

Out of interest unless you are in the gym with him for months on end who's really going to know what his weight program is actually like?
