“What Einstein demonstrated in physics is equally true of all other aspects of the cosmos: all reality is relative. Each reality is true only within given limits. It is only one possible version of the way things are. There are always multiple versions of reality. To awaken from any single reality is to recognize its relative nature.

personally, i think if you dedicate too much time to a single activity, whether its work or sport or anything then its a waste of a life. theres so much to experience in life you shouldnt limit yourself to basically doing one thing

On the whole, in the UK, sport is not taken nearly seriously enough.

Football IS taken seriously; for virtually all other sports, mere lip-service is paid.

If it wasn't for the national lottery funding various aspects of sport, this country would be a joke; which tells you how much sport means to the country.

We offer no scholarship programmes (outside of private schools) associated with sporting prowess. Coaching and facilities are virtually non-existent.

We have no teams visiting schools and assessing pupils on their athletic merits, in order to steer them towards sports they are likely to succeed in.

So, to recap, athletes are under-funded, under-resourced, under-coached and under-rewarded. It's a wonder we can win anything at the Olympics.

yes.

if its someones profession or someone is trying to make it their profession then it cant really be taken too seriously, but those few people aside then yes it is.

professional sports are not sports, they are business. Once money gets in there it's no longer a sport. Am's is where sport stops, and am's shouldn't be taken to seriously.

What about sports where u have to go through amateurs to get to pros?

Eg american football....
College football is amateur but is widely covered and they can pull attendance's of 60k.
Also it is the main route to the nfl

Fun should be a much larger part of people's lives than it usually is.

I wouldn't call that amateur, they are being paid with a full scholarship plus what ever under the table that they do. And the gate money from 60k of people makes it a business for the schools too. So I get back to my point of once there is money involved it's a business and not a sport (maybe you could call it a job for the individual).
