I hope you don't find yourself in a situation were you've overworked yourself, however it pays to listen to the wisdom of people who have been there done and got two t-shirts. Although the not making gains over 30 thing I'm making great gains all the time having said that I am a late starter.good luck with your training :-)

why would he want to do an old man peak at 40?

Good point I suppose but on the other hand once you step out of the gym nobody gives a s**t what you can lift, and when the arthritis, slipped disc crumbled knee all sets in and your crippled with pain I suppose then yes you can at least think I'm better than everyone eles.:-)

I would just like to point out that you can train every day comfortably with an eye of the long term big picture in the same way you can go balls to the wall on a weekly basis trying to max your genetic potential as soon as possible - it is obviously not an either / or situation.

I enjoy my training thats all that realy matters to me. Sure I have a lot of minor aches and pains but thats worth it.

I think that after 30 years of training, the gym becomes part of ones identity. I could not imagine being unable to train,,, to be like the majority of people, that would be hellUnhappyI f**king hate football, pubs , soaps, kiss fm being a unable to protect my family etc...(for some reason I think that if I stop training this is what people do, irrational I know)

I take riskes at may age, however they are measured and sfter 30 years of training I cannot aford to make the gym the centerpeice of my existance. Dont get me wrong, its at the center of my thoughts, but so is my family, study, job etc...

I havent peaked and never will, but Im happy with how I look/ lift(well sometimesWink )
