Cheers mate, it is very awkward, throws you forwards hard and you can only go slow to remain tight, I'm loving it though, going to keep working it until I hit 185 on it then try my normal squat again and see where I'm at | ||

I'd keep them and ditch regular squats unless you're ramping up for a PL meet. Even then I'd use the SS bar as my bread and butter. Good to hear you're finally hitting your triceps as well. | ||

Cheers mate, my max has jumped from 140 to 160 very quickly so can't complain, I aim to be tripling 160 inside a month and hopefully max will be edgin 180 then. I am ditching normal back squats for the time being mate as these are working so well along with front squats, I have my first PL comp in June but don't plan on using a normal bar until a few weeks before as this bar is much tougher so it shouldn't be an issue! Tris took a beating mate, need to get this 150 up paused soon! | ||

I have I think mate, static strength has always really interested me and the buzz I got on the PL platform outweighed any SM comp I have done, plus I suck at SM if I'm honest lol! I fancy really going to town on grip training too and I fancy a crack at a rolling thunder but can't afford one at them mo as all my spare cash is going in my snake fund!! | ||

The one I did and the fed I am going to join to compete again is the GBPF mate, my next one is in my local gym in June - would like 190kg squat, 150kg bench and 272.5kg deadlift if poss. I love strongman but have many glaring weaknesses and will never be around the top spots plus I get injured all the damn time, in PL at my level its all about beating myself so is personally more enjoyable. I may go back to BB in a few years and get onstage as a master | ||

Close Grip Bench Press 531 + Ox Doubles - 60 sec rests 60kg x 10 80kg x 10 100kg x 5 110kg x 5 122.5kg x 3 137.5kg x 2 rep PB (maybe a tough 3rd there) 531 done onto main work... 125kg x 2 125kg x 2 125kg x 2 125kg x 2 125kg x 2 125kg x 2 125kg x 2 125kg x 2 125kg x 2 125kg x 2 total rep/weight PB Felt good today, the 137.5kg double felt very strong, I think the third was there but I wanted a ton of work after done and I've only doubled 135 before so was happy enough, especially as I was fatigued from the overhead work before. Its odd - the doubles are far tougher than the singles and my triceps felt insanely trashed afterwards, the 60 second rests added to the pain. I may continue the 531 for close grips as I'm still slowly progressing, not sure, may just go to town on the Ox doubles. Sciatica still really playing up, rolling and stretching like mad as hoping for 5-6 reps @ 237.5kg on deficit deads tomorrow and rep and max pb's on the front squat then want to hammer my upper back - all depends how my movement is tomorrow. Decent work today though, very pleased, hopefully I should see some 1rm's on axle strict and my bench pretty soon. | ||

Pretty sure this years strongman comp is out, sciatica making moving events stupidly painful. Powerlifting is the way forward I think this year and Smolov Jr for all three lifts I think is going to need to be tried - squats will be on a safety squat bar too to make things tougher. Not starting it yet, still under consideration but maybe worth a pop, numbers all look do able. | ||
