just wanting to borrow some sugden knowledge, im running a novice comp later this year and 1 of the events is going to be a barrel and sandbag medley.

ive never done sandbags before so need advice on the weights, im having the barrels at 100kg so would about 90kg be about right for the sandbags?

also im wondering how many sugdeners would be interested in competing? it'll be about may/june time in Doncaster

thanks

What other events will be in the show. I can manage 100kg barrel and 90kg sand bag and I've only been training for strongman since January 2014

Cant say for sure yet mate, still waiting to find out all the equipment we'll have to hand

at moment we're thinking 100kg log for reps
120kg farmers
maybe a max deadlift

I am wanting it slightly heavier than usual, sort of to bridge the gap between novice and intermediate

My first novice had a 80kg log and half the field failed it, I came joint 1st with 6

Think it had about 80kg farmers and 180kg yoke which I struggled to finish

Before opening, I thought this would be another 'how heavy is a 20kg plate?' kind of thread.

I've been a member of this forum for too long I reckon.
