Technicaly this is my 5th log, the first ran from 2005 on the now defunct Powerlifting UK website. The others are here:

Let me explain a little more.

The IPF in their wisdom have decided to expand the World Classic to include the old farts (Masters lifters) like me, however i'm aware that as I approach my 56th year the chances of:-
A). GB selection as an M2.
B). Being competitive on the global platform.
are currently slim.

However, in 2018 I turn 60 (Hard to believe I know), and as a fresh M3 my chances of attaining A & B above increase significantly. There are unfortunately two major hurdles to overcome on this road to 2018:-
1). Staying alive.
2). Staying fit, healthy and injury free.
Consequently this log might possibly end before the end!

Hopefully Pete we'll be sharing that stage at the 2018 IPF Masters World Classic, wherever it may be.

January 1st 2014.

A very quiet night at the Farm (I seem to be saying that a lot at present), just 5 of us, Bonecrusher Frank, Forklift, the Stewart twins and myself. Weighed in at 111.55Kg. Started my new diet today, i'm trying to eat lots of healthy stuff, the plan is to lose fat but put on a little weight! It's gonna be a tough few weeks.
Legs still feeling the effects of Mondays squats and the snotty cold is still lingering so I was expecting to struggle a little with tonights deadlifts!!!

Deadlift - The book called for trebles.
2 x 5 x 70
5 x 110
5 x 140
3 x 165
3 x 182.5
3 x 195 Now when starting this top end treble I was aware that my best ever set of 5 was at 192.5, so in my head a little plan was forming, I set the camera up - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x0Gwu0Wlevs&feature=youtu.b... 5x195 My firt PB of 2014, in fact my first PB of any type since 2nd March 2012!

Deadlifts appear to be going in the right direction, as you can see I was using the 0.5Kg collars so I could claim 196, but I wont. According to the Finch formulae 5x195 equates to a single at 235Kg. Very satisfied.

Bench.
20 x 20
8 x 60
5 x 80
4 x 100
5 x 3 x 105 Got the last set on video and will upload it later.
4 x 100 Wanted 5.
8 x 80 Close Grip.
9 x 80 Close Grip.
Slow improvements only on the bench.

Some good lifting between the 5 of us tonight, including a 250 deadlift from Frank and a set of 5x240 from Forklift. I've got more footage but it will have to wait until later.

Great start to 2014 Ian. Awesome lifting!!

That's hardcore training on New year's day. Wasn't aware that the farm was open until Frank told me in the afternoon. By that stage I was off with me Speedos for a hot tub with sussie.

Friday 3rd January.

Very dissapointing non-session tonight, my diabetes has been playing up for a couple of days and according to the doc it's "out of control" again so he'schanged my medication. Feeling dizzy and sick all day but I mistakenly thought that a trip to the Farm would take my mind off it. Weighed in at 112.00Kg. Lots of lifters turned out tonight, around 11 i think.

Squats.
10 x 20
2 x 5 x 70
5 x 90
Stopped here, squatting is not healthy when the gym is spinning.

Bench.
10 x 20
Laying down does not stop the spinning!

Went home and slept for 2 hours.
Hopefully i'll be back in command of the body by Monday and tonights planned session can happen then.Unhappy Unhappy

Thanks for the comments chaps, still dizzy and lightheaded but not as bad as Friday evening, hopefully the new medication will settle things down. If not the doc tells me that it will be insulin injections before long.
