he is an excellent coach, not only does he get you jacked bu he also teaches you the virtues of life. he has taught me a veritable cornucopia of things including how to squat properly, how to use a petrol station and how to go about life being generally a boss.

Charis actually came to my gym last week and was actually a super helpful coach to the whole bunch of us that were training there. Lol.

Dietmar Wolf. Head coach of the norwegian national team with lifters like Carl Yngvar Christensen and Kjell Egil Bakkelund (960 @ -83, IPF world champion this year) in a talent pool of 700 lifters.

How would you measure that, would someone who has produced a high number of top lifters or one coach who didn't have many lifters train under him but produced one superstar. I often wonder what my coach would have achieved had he had the chance to coach a large number of lifters (he spent years sometimes decades coaching 2-3 lifters who did well but if he had more lifters would he have produced superstars?). What about the coach who is excellent but never had a truly talented lifter come through his doors?
That said from my limited perspective the best strength coaches are:
Boris Sheiko
Belyaev's original and longtime coach- I cant remember his name
Abadijev
Whoever is responsible for coaching the Chinese weightlifters

Strength coaches on here should write an ebook and sell it.

I'm sure it would beat some of the usual tripe being put over the internet over and over again on some sites!

its probably a load of russian fellas none of us have ever heard of. the yanks are known because they like to talk a lot but most of their programs are just stolen from eastern block systems from years/decades ago.

Brooks Kubik,Ken Liestner and Stuart McRobert.
I grew up reading these guys and learnt more from these three than anybody else. The values of solid hard training and simple routines based around squats, bench, deadlifts and mainly busting your balls to lift heavy f**king weightsGrin

Indeed. So far we've generally had a list of online gurus or coaches whom havn't done that much in any kind of broad competitive field. I know there has been some joke answers too but some have been serious.

I can't stand Stuart McRobert.
