Really? That is very interesting. But presumably you don't actually get 32.5kg out of the suit and when you pulled the 272.5 you could have had a lot more than 240 raw? (What do you reckon? 260+?)

If jon has a great lockout but is weaker from the floor, i could see 20+ from a nice suit, but i think at his power peak 260 was do-able.

mabie when you decide to max out RAW,open up the ASDA bag, slide that old badboy on and see how much you get ?

Well when I did 255kg at Catts in Sept 05 (and narrowly missed 262.5kg on a slight hitch) the suit I was weariong was borrowed and basically gave me nothing so at my peak I'd say around 260 without the suit, but 'officially' 240 so anything more than that I'm calling a PB!

I may just do some suited deads in the near future Jonny. I reckon I get 15kg out of the suit (or thereabouts).

Nightmare, loaded the 105kg stone once and missed it a few times. I get worse every week on these.

it was a weird log day man for both of us. Farmers speed saved the day though!

Like i said, i am up for doing all the events you need to practise on for White Cliffs in the coming sessions.

Joni I'm up for some stones focussed sessions definitely.

I'm not going to compete this year again though as my shin has been agony all weekend - painful to walk. I'm not a soft lad but I'm not a dumb s**t either, so I'm not going to knowingly injure myself anymore!

It really pisses me off though as farmers is my favourite event and I was looking forward to some solid yoke sessions but for now they'll have to wait. I just need to give it a really good rest to get it cleared up properly.

I will still do some event sessions at weekends but I'll be limited as to what I can do (as I have been for quite a while now anyway).

Anyway - good luck on Sunday!

Do you have shin splints? i had them myself a couple of years ago and i went to see a podiatrist and he gave me insoles to wear in my shoes and the problem cleared up.

Yes I got them from yoke. Farmers and yoke are the only thing that seem to really aggravate it, and seeing as they caused it I'll just try leaving them out for a while. If that doesn't work i'll follow up your suggestion - cheers!

In all seriousness, sorry to hear about the injury mate. I understand 100% where you are coming from. We are in this game for the long run anyway, no use jeopardizing long term gains for short term impatience.

But do keep an eye on how the situation develops. Maybe you can hit some comp early autumn or something? I dont think you will lose much strength in your walking events anyway if we hit things like holds and pickups hard.

That's exactly what I was thinking anyway Joni which is why I still want to keep an event session each week of some kind. I know farmers will come back quickly like you say and I'm pretty sure I could get my yoke up quite soon if need be. I suoopse it's a good opportunity to get my log and stones up to par!

if you have a 2" bar you could do quater squats for reps but hold each time for 150 to 20 seconds this will stimulate the core in the same fasion that yoke does try it and see what you think
